EL SALSA Mexican Takeaway — Restaurant in Great Britain

Delicious food authentic Mexican cuisine. Really pleased that they have proper Tequila on sale. On the whole though, a bit pricey for what it is, prices are up there with 'classy' restaurants but the menu is limited and it is really a fast food eatery. *next bit is added after response from owner as there was no facility to reply *. When I visited your establishment I did enjoy the food very much, I am not trying to make trouble for you. I am just writing what I believe to be the truth for my review. My partner and I both ordered a main meal each (£11.50 per head if I remember correctly) plus some chips (which were delicious) Also we had 1 soft drink and 1 pint of lager plus a Tequila each. Our final bill was over £40. You asked which classy restaurants I am refering to in your response.In the local area, for example The Golden Lion, Newport, your prices are only a little less than theirs. Kind...

2018 update! It's no wonder these guys have won awards...... The food is amazing. Portions are huge and the flavours and textures just melt in your mouth! This is not fast food. This is quality ingredients being moulded into mouthfuls of OMG.

Yes your going to have a ten minute wait in a line and yes it's probably going to take 15 mins to have food Infront of you but it doesn't matter. If you want instant food go somewhere else. If you want true astroNOMical food in your mouth and amazing cocktails then get yourself to El Salsa.

Great Mexican street food. It's not flash, it's not posh... but it's not meant to be. What it is, is freshly prepared burritos, nachos, quesadillas, etc, full of tasty ingredients, great with a bottle of beer or soft drink. Take away seems to be very popular, as is the sitting in option, which is by way of 3 large bench type tables and chairs... when it's busy, prepare to get cosy with the folk next to you. Staff were hardworking and friendly, greeting locals/regulars and visitors equally well. I had the Dirty Beef Burrito off the specials menu, and I loved every mouthful. We will certainly be coming back...
