Great coffee, friendly service & reliable subscription at a fair price. Been using Big Dog for 6 months or so now on a 1kg whole bean monthly subscription. Using the roasters choice option I have received different single origin roast every time. All with distinctly different aromas and flavours. Have enjoyed them all. My latest delivery is their house blend, Top Dog. Really nice! Well rounded flavour, would be ideal first order for anyone. Wish my latte art was as good as the coffee :) Subscription makes it even better value and you can see easily manage your subscription in your account on their page. Skip an order if you've a backlog of coffee or reschedule the order to a date of your choice.

Popped in for the first time this morning, mainly attracted our attention due to it being dog friendly, we took our 4 month old GSD in. I think if he was bigger it would have been a squeeze where we sat, but more seating out the back. Lovely coffee, quick service and everyone was so friendly. Reasonable prices and the peanut butter dog ice cream went down a treat for our boy. Iced coffee highly recommended. My only issue which takes it from a 5* to a 4* is that there is no gluten free bread, a small ask for a modern day coffee shop I feel. But other than that a great experience.

I had such a great day today at the Barista workshop at Big Dog Coffee. I’m a regular customer of here because I love their Mochas so much. The customer service is brilliant so friendly and welcoming. The perfect coffee everytime. Today we felt this experience was a brilliant couples experience. We have a coffee machine at home, and have been wanting to learn how to use it and this workshop hosted by Hannah was incredible. I loved it. Thank you

Absolutely amazing place! I rarely go to Blackwood these days but used to daily when my family were in business there; ( nothing to do with coffee) many years ago. Unfortunately Blackwood no longer gets the investment it deserves but you should be super proud of yourselves for creating this gem in the town. The coffee was the best I have ever had and I have had coffee in many places all over the world. The late lovely Robert Barker who had one of his clothing shops nearly opposite your place; I am sure would be proud of you being a self made business man himself; coffee and tea shops included. My family were over from Australia recently and popped in for a coffee or a takeout nearly everyday. They tell me they miss the great coffee they had at Big Dog it is the best they have ever had - and they live near the beautiful ocean with fab places to eat and drink. If that doesn’t tell you how fab you are. 🤗 Next time I visit Australia perhaps you would have opened up a lovely coffee shop there 🤞 I will be a regular customer from now on and will only be buying Big Dog coffee for my moka pot...

Love this coffee shop 😍 Its so nice to have such a modern, stylish (and clean!) addition to the coffee shops in Blackwood. The owners are passionate about coffee and they roast their own, which really makes a difference. They also put a lot of effort into the local community by providing book swaps and organising walks etc.

One massive selling point for Big Dog is that they are dog friendly; I believe the only dog friendly cafe in Blackwood. They also have baby changing facilities within a spacious and clean WC. High chair is also available for little ones.

If I could make one suggestion for improvement it would be expanding the cafe to include a kitchen area so that more savoury options could be offered as I’m sure the food would be as good as the coffee!

Hopefully this business goes from strength to strength as it’s so nice to have a successful independent business flourishing on the...

Reviewing coffee purchased from website (not the cafe) - I don't often review, but these coffee's are spectacular. I have had the opportunity to try several single origin variants and am very impressed. If you have tried Horsham coffee, they have a similar but less aggressive roasting profile (as in the flavour the roasting imparts) which surprisingly allows the bean flavour to shine through more. I'm not a coffee expert, but a hobbyist, and can confirm, they really know what they are doing here - the choice of bean and roasting techniques are some of the best I've tried across countless roasteries. Give them a go and you won't be disappointed. Roast dates are on the packages and flavour profiles are accurate. I'd go as far as saying these are some of the best beans I've tried from any UK roastery with genuinely different, punchy and interesting flavours. Will be...
