Big Sam's — Restaurant in Wales

This is fairly local to me and so when I fancy a cheeky cheap takeaway, this is one of a few places I would be happy to go back to.

As you might expect from a takeaway restaurant, they sell an excellent range of takeaway foods; fish, chips, southern fried chicken, burgers, pizzas, kebab... Etc.

The food is always prepared freshly and priced competitively (on promotional days, it's insanely competitive!) and I've never had a bad meal from here.

The staff are always friendly, polite and efficiently quick. As with a lot of these kinds of places, turnover of staff is frequent, but again, every time I've been here, they've been spot on.

Coming back to an earlier point, promotional deals:

Some of the deals they offer are proper nuts! For example, they offer buy one get one free on pizza at selected times. Not that extreme you may say but on a Tuesday, they offer an extra one which means you buy one pizza and then get TWO for free...

Wait. What? I'm paying for one and you'll give me three?! Are you sure?! What was that?! Eh?! I had to ask the young lady serving me several times to make sure she wasn't going to get herself sacked, but yes, get your timing right and some of the meal deals they offer are outstanding and truly excellent value for money.

this was disappointing. customer service was nowhere to be seen. after ordering we then proceeded to wait an hour for our order which was only 2 kebabs and fish and chips. whilst waiting for our food we over heard a couple who had also been waiting just over an hour for their food only to receive burnt food. we had also noticed how 4 of the staff were standing around doing nothing and how the rest seemed to be more focused on their deliveries. when finally being noticed by a staff member I received my order which had been sat in a hot cupboard for around half hour. when we got home we opened our food to the wrong meal. our fish and chips was good but the kebabs were not. ordered 2 large mixed donnas one with salad and one without with garlic and mint sauce. what we got was what looked like one small chicken with garlic and one small mixed with garlic. no salad. the chicken also wasn't very nice as skin was left on and cartilage and the portion was only enough for what could be a young child. I have been to other big Sams where I have had amazing service and a fantastic meal.. I am very disappointed with this one however I will not be returning and suggest that you look for a better place for...

Given this place too many opportunities to get it correct the first time. 6 months ago I also witnessed a young staff member feel the kebab with his bare hand to check temperature after dealing with cash at the till. Food has been completely incorrect the last 3 times when ordering a delivery. Called them to ask for a refund they told me to go back through just eat as they don’t receive the funds for 2 months later from them, just eat then rang the restaurant and informed them they had already offered me a refund if they could collect the order which was not offered to me when complaing. I then called them back to query this as to why I wasn’t asked to do this, to be told by the same person that he didn’t inform me as he was unsure if his manager would authorise?
