We enjoyed a delicious cup of hot chocolate and had teacakes at Cadwaladers in Criccieth a week ago . After leaving my wife had a bad fall on the pavement just down the hill from Cadwaladers on going to our son in law's car . I was about 15-20 yards behind her saw it happen , but could do nothing about it . What i wish to say is - a huge thank you to the manager of Cadwaladers for everything that she and her staff did to make my wife more comfortable. It was pouring with rain and they provided umbrellas and things to cover my wife and keep her warm lying there in agony unable to move , until an ambulance arrived . My wife was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd, sadly due to covid i could not go with her and we were unable to visit her there. My daughter , son in law and i returned to London and Kent on Tuesday .and we have been in constant touch with my wife by mobile phone . My wife broke her femur in three places and had a 5hr complex operation on the Sunday. My wife cannot fault the care she has received in Ysbyty Gwynedd and hopefully my wife will be home early next week all being well. Diolch yn fawr Ysbyty Gwynedd & Diolch yn fawr Cadwaladers . My wife and i have been going to Criccieth since 1997 and consider Rhos Country Cottages our 2nd home , Cadwaladers and Raspberry Ripple icecream our 3rd home !!!!!!!! after Catle Fish & Chips !!!!!!!! Read moreWe are returning customers of 60+ years, 5 generations of our family all loved your famous vanilla ice cream. My husband's mother used to live in Criccieth and so the family always made a special trip up each summer - which we always ended up in cadwaladers without fail each day! We haven't been to Criccieth in 4 years, last week we made the special 3 hour journey as it had been 10 years since my mother in law died. She is buried in the cemetery overlooking Criccieth, we always go into Criccieth and re-live our holidays, sit by the beach and eat your amazing ice cream. Unfortunately you have changed your recipe, usually when you walk in the parlour we used to smell the ice cream, it had a distinctive taste and smell. With a 100 years of experience, between the three of us, we all knew straight away you have changed the recipe. It honestly spoilt the trip down memory lane. We spoke to my late mother in laws family and friends who still live in Criccieth and they already knew about the recipe change and said it happened 3 years ago - as a result they refuse to buy your ice cream anymore.
As long returning customers we are so disappointed you have changed what was once the most amazing ice cream in the world. We urge you to please return to your roots, change the recipe back to its...
Read moreExcellent! What a breath of fresh air for someone with an allergy.... I went in for an ice cream (well sorbet) in a cone. Before I could say anything I got asked if I had an allergy to which I said yes and disclosed it. The young gentleman behind the till immediately changed his gloves, got a fresh ice cream scoop and proceeded to serve me my sorbet from a brand new tub that had not been out on the open counter. Excellent service and totally unflustered by having to go through extra processes due to my allergy. Such a reassuring experience and therefore somewhere I highly recommend if you have an allergy. More establishments need to do this as not enough do - speaking from experience. I cannot thank them enough for a great experience and top notch ice creams and sorbets that my husband and...
