We (4 of us) arrived at the door for 1:30 and we’re told unfortunately there we no tables available right there and then but could book for 2pm which was fantastic news, only a half hour wait. We returned on time at 2pm to be greeted by the very same person (American lady) that had organised the booking for us. She was oblivious to ever seeing us before, I reminded her that we were booked for 2pm at which point she took us to a table for two and threw the menus on the table. I told her the table wasn’t appropriate and that we’d booked the table for 4 people. She flew off the handle, berated me about the fact she’s sees 50 different people in an hour and how was she to know! Anyway we resolved the issue by sitting at a table that was free when we’d first visited at 1:30. Nobody takes your order, you have to do it through a QR code like we used to back in the COVID days, come on really….. this is now just lazy. My food was amazing and my wife’s still going on about how great the yoghurt was, one of our party had avocado on toast. The toast was made from sourdough and unfortunately too tough to cut up or even eat. Moral of the story, visit here if you wish to be verbally abused by a middle aged, American and break your teeth...
Read moreDisappointed with my visit today! Arrived and the kitchen was shortly closing which wasn’t an issue the young blonde girl who greeted us was lovely and showed us to table 11. Although the waitress who served us was full of attitude and anything seemed too much of a task and inconvenience for her which made myself and partner extremely uncomfortable. When ordering food I ordered a special that I later found out was sold out which wasn’t an issue until I asked the same waitress for a menu to quickly pick a different item you’d swear I’d asked her the impossible by the eye roll and tutting under her breath she proceeded to give me. We had the halloumi burger which was lovely and iced late was donee really well! Although the full breakfast was disappointing as toast was cold/hard, bacon was hard and sausage seemed barely cooked! Such a shame as generally the review are fantastic and cafe itself is beautiful inside! The attitude from the specific staff member massively lets down this restaurant and definitely needs attention! Sorry but won’t be...
Read moreThis is one of my new favourite places. We had eat-in breakfast and a bunch of takeaway coffees and treats. The food is exceptionally good, their coffee is great too, but the biggest highlight is all the stuff you shouldn't eat too much of, like doughnuts, cinnamon rolls, and Portuguese tarts. I ended up having several a day while I was in Cardigan on holiday, good job I live many miles away. I also really like the vibe of the place: one day I went in and there were 2 young people playing chess which reminded me of my tine in Portland Oregon, with foody places like this. Also I (stupidly) left my cash card in there, realised a bit later and phoned, and immediately the person who answered reassured me that they had the card and they'd put it to one side. It's so rare to have this kind of response - just completely competent and customer focused: I immediately relaxed, and went back later and ate a load...
