Read moreWe ordered bottled water for 6 to go with our meal but unbeknown to us we received a small glass of water each with no evidence that it came out of 6 small 250ml bottles until the bill came. We were charged £1.95 per 250ml bottle of water, costing £11.70 for 6 glasses of water. When questioned why we were not offered a large bottle the reply was that they didn't have any larger sizes.
And before you ask, no.. we didn't fancy tap water.
The food was mediocre with good portions but I was shocked that bottled water was one of the most expensive I've come across in the UK and I've travelled extensively. £1.95 for a very small 250ml bottle of water which is one of the smallest sizes available is extortionate. Even hotels and expensive restaurants don't charge that much for such a basic amenity.
Thank you for your prompt reply and yes it was the Aqua Panna 250ml bottle I was referring to as a 25ml bottle doesn't exist, so my apologies for the typo. I think however anyone reading this would have hopefully understood that it was the smallest bottled water being referred to. For the benefit of doubt, Ocado also sell the very same bottles at £3.50 for 6.
I do sympathise with the current economic crises we are all facing at the moment. The review however is not just to help potential customers during this crisis but to also give you as a business owner an indication of how customers are feeling after visiting in order to see if there is anything that they can do to improve and to also help generate more business.
Customers should be able to make an informed choice by letting them know in advance that you do not sell large bottles of water and that small 250ml bottles cost £1.95. That way they are aware that they are paying the equivalent of £7.80 per litre for water. It really does makes a difference when there is a larger group ordering. Its not just about price it is also about customers not feeling misled.
I am sorry that you felt my honest customer review was unhelpful but I do wish you and your business...
