Stopped off here during out little visit to Chepstow. We chose this coffee shop because it had a comfortable range of seating, (Nice sofas) where we could properly relax. We both had a hot drink. Me, a , Cappachino and my partner, a Hot Apple and Cinnamon. The drinks were priced reasonably and the wait for service was minimal. There was also a nice range of pastries on offer but I wasn't tempted. It wasn't that busy when we visited and the noise was minimal too. Good enough facilities by way of toilets. The staff were also polite and smiling. I didn't notice a NO DOGS sign, but I wouldn't assume.

An ok coffee place. Coffee wasn't too my liking and surprisingly not that hot - more of a medium only temperature. The vanilla latte I had had a weird aftertaste and the spongecake I bought was dry which was very disappointing. I normally frequent another coffee shop but gave this one a go but sadly I was disappointed during my visit. I am sure that other people will enjoy the coffee but it wasn't for me sadly and the dry cake was a definite disappointment, especially considering the prices you pay.

The years almost up and I find myself just in side the Welsh border (Chepstow) and blown away by what is without doubt “The Best Ever” Flat White at Coffee #1 I selected their Guatemala Single Origin Bean - stunning depth (strength & body) with lovely liquorice / aniseed undertones. Before the Flat White I had their Lentil Dahl soup served with a Naan which was also deserving of a full 5🌟 The problem is ... this is a fair old drive from London.

A welcoming and friendly coffee shop that even extends the warm welcome to dogs in a designated indoor area. There's a varied selection of seasonally cold or hot drinks, with frequent themed choices, such as pumpkin flavoured coffee at Halloween and fruit flavoured coolers for summer. There's a wide selection of really good cakes and pastries that are definitely a cut above those which coffee shop chains usually offer and, not only are they similar prices as elsewhere, the portion sizes are definitely more generous. Sandwiches and panini's are fresh, well filled and with a wide variety of choices, and there is also the usual toast, toasted tea cakes, muffins, Welsh cakes and such like on offer too. There should be something for anyone here and at a fair price. The house coffee itself is good, not too strong and not too weak, always hot and comes in the usual variety of ways. There are also regular guest coffees. The staff deserve a particular mention, because not only are they friendly and welcoming, they're also very smart and professional. It genuinely seems to matter to them that you get what you want, in the way that you like it. They don't passively wait to be asked either - I ordered a black earl grey tea and they thought to ask if i was allergic to dairy or lactose intolerant and then offered to provide either soya or coconut milk or lemon. That's really helpful, to offer options without waiting to be asked, and a refreshing change from just automatically being provided with the standard cow's milk that you then have to leave. Outdoor seating is limited and is on a slope but it is comfortable. There's plenty of comfy armchairs, regular chairs and tables scattered within that allow you sufficient space that you don't end up effectively sitting with the people at the next table. They open the front windows wide in summer too, which allows for a comfortable breeze to circulate within. All in all, I rate it as Chepstow's best coffee shop, based on the high quality of what they offer, the excellent staff, good portion sizes and the...

For a chain coffee shop, Coffee#1 in Chepstow is impressive. 4 stars because the food and drink isn't exactly out of this world. I would stop here for the atmosphere.

Coffee#1 is located in the centre of town at a spot with a lot of foot traffic. On a warm Summer day, the outside seating area is perfect for people watching and enjoying the weather. On the inside there's plenty of comfortable seating available and it is quite spacious. The community also makes use of it at a hotspot for gathering together and having a sit-down while having a nice drink.

Like I said, the food and drink is nice don't get me wrong, it's just not 5 star worthy so I'm keeping it to 4. I've had the Breakfast Wrap which is OK as well as the Pistachio Iced Latte (a summer special) which was also OK.

Unless you're here specifically for the food, you won't be disappointed. It's not a surprise that this is a...
