Coffi Lab Rhiwbina — Restaurant in Wales

Nice new coffee shop. I have visited a few times, and the points to note are that they only sell one size of coffee, which is a bit disappointing as I like a mug! Also, no fancy hot chocolate. The till is located near to the door as you walk in on the left so everyone is queuing out to the door and you don't get chance to see what pastries are on offer unless you get the people waiting for their drinks to shift out of the way and make everyone wait to order while you are looking. There's another till hidden down the end of the room, but you wouldn't know it was there as its behind a pillar and all of the customers waiting for their drinks. The atmosphere is ok as long as you don't mind dogs and children as it can get a bit noisy. I've had a few delicious cakes and pastries but not tried a sandwich as they are in a fridge away from the queue for the till and didn't want to lose my place. Good reviews, but why do you insist on having your outside lights on during daylight hours? The glare from the lights are so obvious throughout the village and make it look like a cheap resort. The village supports its own ‘Eco team’ who try to encourage the provision of appropriate facilities and behaviour. Operating the lights, as you do, demonstrates a total lack of understanding and support to energy usage. You did promise several months ago not to operate them in daylight hours. The look, feel, set-up are all right, and all in what is likely the best possible location in Rhiwbina Village.

The betting shop that used to be in this location was a horrendous business in a spot which ruined the environment around. The set up of Coffi Lab has completely transformed this into a right-for-location coffee shop done well.

Outside area perfect for summer and the wide open front gives a good feeling throughout. Thoroughly modernised and the coffee and cakes are good, as are the brunch type...
