Me & my girlfriend were out having a walk around and decided to pop into the town centre to grab a quick coffee as its lockdown regulations we knew there would only be limited places open so decided to head to costa. We are both quick young looking and also dress very casual sportswear etc which can normally come across as rough as some people would say but we both have hotel jobs on the front of house reception so know a lot about customer service and also know its very easy to judge a book by its cover which is exactly what happened in store. As we entered we were immediately disrespected after being told to move back further than 2 meters when trying to glance at the tiny menu items in the distance over the counter. Alex then ordered the que about like a drill Sargent with Jason in the background making sly remarks and walking around like he was the bees knees. The responsibility of being one of the only places open clearly got to there heads with power and i will never recommend this shop again to anyone. They did it to the wrong person this time and i will not stand for bad customer service of this level. This review is going on every page i can find because i am sick of people like these two thinking because they work for a corporate business they are untouchable. I often visit here, not just because I like the coffee but the very hard working and cheery staff are so friendly. They are often struggling to cope with the sheer amount of orders and customers that come through, but they always serve you with a smile. Todays visit though was way above expectation. The wonderful Zoe assisted my wife with seating our grandaughter, allowed me to take a seat and brought our drinks to the table. Unfortunately this store can't seem to handle busy periods on weekends. On two Sunday visits (about two months apart) it took around ten minutes to queue, order and then receive my order. It got so bad that they were queuing out the door and some abandoned the shop to go to Starbucks around the corner. Things picked up when another employee helped the barista with the orders but overall it was a negative experience from what was once a great...
