Fish was rock solid.

Rude and awful service. I always ask for a fresh fish and it's the only chippy I've ever been to where they say but the one in there is fresh and always question me asking. Rest of the chippy's never even question me asking for a fresh fish as its the normal thing to do. Nobody even cooks a fish and leaves it in there these days as chippys always have a sign saying all fish cooked fresh. Everyone knows that when a fish is out and left in there for more than a minute then it tastes like cardboard

Whenever I turn up I can always see and hear them huffing as they know I'm going to ask for a fresh fish.

Went today and someone was about to put a fish in for me and another staff member said don't put that 1 in and put this in as its smaller and she looked over at me after she said it. I was right as the rest of the fishes came out when I was there and they were all bigger than me and my families one's.

It's always the same staff member who says I'm not putting a fish in, when I walk in and huffs and...

I was really disappointed when visiting yesterday (Saturday 16/08/25 ) of the female staffs response. I asked if they had cheese rissoles, which are lovely and what we usually have. Fair enough as when told no if they have sold out! But when I asked what else they had vegetarian the young lad said about another option! The female then piped up quite assertively and said all are cooked in the same fat as they cannot have one fryer that does not have meat fried in it, they are too busy for that! Fair enough that they go with the majority totally understand as in this current climate it seems the minority have preference! But at least apologise instead of shouting it across the chip shop!! I thought it was quite rude and made me turn around and leave as I will not be going there again ! Actually just to add that we don’t mind that it’s cooked that way we just prefer not...

We had a takeaway last night, 21st February. I was looking forward to haddock as it was on the list of items to order. When we picked up the order we were told that there was no haddock so I had to have cod which isn't as tasty as haddock. My granddaughter is vegetarian but, guess what, no veggie burgers so she just had chips. The food was lukewarm and I think it had been packed for some time before it was picked up at the time stated. The chips were unappetising and soggy. This just isn't good enough. In the past I have had extremely tasty and hot meals and have always recommended this chippy. I hope that more care will be taken in future to make it the great experience...
