So when we arrived we were seated with two high chairs (as we requested) in the furthest corner. I went to the bar to ask someone to warm up the baby food, after being stood there for a few minutes and being ignored by the waitress on the phone I said excuse me and asked her to warm his food up. I explained I forgot his bowl so handed her the jar. When she brought it back around 5 minutes later it was scolding, to the point that I had to ask another waitress to put it in the fridge so the baby could have it within the next hour. I had to give him his pudding first and then by the time the food was cool enough he wasn't interested in it. Someone came to take out order but we weren't offered any drinks. My partner's partner's burger came with a bun option but later we were told that they didn't have the bun he chose which fine, kitchen run out of things. My partner went to the bar to order a drink and was greeted with a barmaid rolling a rollie, amazing thing to see. After 30mins I started wondering if our food was ever coming! I'm happy to wait for a good meal in a busy restaurant but we were the only people there! Another 10mins later the food came. I ordered a chicken curry and what arrived I can only describe as swamp water. It was a massive bowl filled to the brim with a dollop of rice in it. Disgusting. The kids meals were okay, over cooked sausages but he didn't care. My partner's burger was fine but dry but it would be after taking 40mins to cook 😂. Through this the barmaid kept rolling her rollies behind the bar and popping to the smoking area, watching the bar for customers (smoking area was right behind where we were sat). Around 10mins after I sent my meal back the chef went to the bar and kept looking at our table giving us daggers. The waitress that served our table (not the one that wanted to burn the baby or the one that kept going out for a smoke every 5mins) was lovely, chatted to the kids and took the curry off the bill. We just couldn't wait to leave! Would...
Read moreLast night we visited this pub for a quiet drink with friends. Halfway through our drink one of their regulars walked over to us and for no reason launched an unprovoked verbal attack on us - he was raving at us in an incoherent manner letting of a stream of foul abuse, and was very aggressive in his manner, this went on for sometime. Eventually he realised we were going to call the police. At that stage he disappeared. The staff during this assault just stood back and watched on. Only when he moved away did a girl come over claiming to be the assistant manager and apologise for the incident, stating that the protagonist had mental problems (I'm no psychiatrist but even I had worked that one out). We tried to inform her that as alcohol was a trigger for his outbursts then he should not be served alcohol on the premises. That its part of a Licences conditions not to serve alcohol to such people, this just went over her head. We have since written to the Landlady about the incident but have not had the decency of a reply. I suggest you avoid this establishment. Luckily at the time there were no children in the bar...

The fish n chips will leave you hankering for more . There’s also a choice of roast on Sundays too. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed by this charming local, the only problem is resisting the urge to spend more...
