Mina Lebanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Great Britain

So me and my house mates tried this place for the first time today. We ordered for collection.

The man I spoke to on the phone initially was very polite and helpful in providing me with the information I needed about the menu so that was a good start.

The order was as follows for the 4 of us: 1 x Mina Lamb 1 x Mina Chicken 1 x Selection of 6 Mezze for 2 1 x Falafel 1 x Baba Ghanoush 1 x Tabboule 1 x Leban-Bi Khayar 1 x Baklava 3 x Arabic Bread

The food was super tasty! The portion sizes were good, the selection of 6 mezze for 2 is good as a main meal for 1 and the Kiba Lamb pieces are definitely worth a special mention. Both the Mina Lamb and Mina Chicken were very good both in portion and quality and had lots of flavour. The Baba Ghanoush was also delightful, very good for dipping bread or mixing with the rest of the food on your plate.

Overall a very good experience and I will more than likely be back soon.

There are only 2 things I can think of that weren't great. One being the bread, it was tasty and I definitely enjoyed it but the portion was small for the price considering how cheap bread is to make and when comparing to similar restaurants, your the the first I've come across that actually charge for it. The second thing would be that by presumption the food was probably done and packed about 10 minutes before I even arrived at the restaurant for collection because by the time I got home (and I took it home in a professional delivery bag) some of the food was pretty cold.

Both of these things are minor inconveniences but I feel it's good for both the restaurant and the customers to know of them.

I recommend this restaurant highly! The food is charcoal grilled and tastes absolutely amazing. The lamb and chicken on skewers is melt in the mouth with a chargrill on the outside. Perfect BBQ! All of the food is fresh and they take a while to cook everything to order. The staff are super friendly and have happy faces and smiles. Feels great to receive such a fantastic welcome and attentive service. They will customise the meals to taste with no issue at all. (Swapped tomato for bell peppers on my starter salad) There’s a lovely family vibe in the restaurant and it’s full of people who’ve eaten there for decades! I’m now a regular as the whole experience is 10/10 every single time. Remember to reserve as it’s in high demand. Personally I think this is the best charcoal grilled food I have ever eaten and it’s consistently excellent! The facilities are spotlessly clean also- including the loos. The only downside is that I can’t stop myself having their amazing chicken wings to start and I always struggle to finish the main meal! Ordered delivery from here on Friday night and was really disappointed. I've been to the restaurant many times over the years but not since the pandemic, and I can only think they've either changed management or changed chefs now as it's really gone downhill sadly.

Whilst my wife enjoyed her meat main and side, my vegetarian dishes were truly awful I'm sad to say. The foul moudamas was horrible, so salty, had no tomato, and tasted EXACTLY like one I buy out of a yellow tin... I did wonder if it was out of the same tin? My Veggie Club consisted solely of sliced onions & courgettes, with barely and aubergine or tomato in sight, even though it said it was cooked with both. I had to spoon off 7 TABLESPOONS OF OIL before I could even eat it, and even then it was drenched in oil at the bottom meaning it was inedible. I can't believe they charged nearly £17 for that dish?!

I am gutted that I paid over £55 for a meal that was such poor quality and that I couldn't eat. I can not recommend based on that experience, and I'm sad the place has gone so downhill. I don't have £55 to throw away, and I'm disappointed that I did...
