⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Service & Welcoming Atmosphere at Hodo Lounge!
I visited Hodo Lounge last night with my partner, four friends, and two dogs, and we had an absolutely wonderful time! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, but what really made the experience stand out was the incredible service from Ryan behind the bar.
I have a severe banana allergy, and one of my friends has celiac disease, so we’re always cautious when dining out. Ryan was exceptionally attentive to our dietary restrictions, ensuring we felt comfortable and safe while also being genuinely friendly and easy to chat with.
I ordered the standard Lounge Brunch without tomatoes, and Ryan went the extra mile by offering to swap them for something else. I chose mushrooms for my partner, which was a thoughtful touch. I also ordered the large Lounge Brunch for myself with the same adjustment and got an extra hash brown instead—small details like this make a big difference!
For drinks, my partner had a Diet Coke while I ordered a Daceri Nolarder (alcohol-free). Two of my friends also got the same drink and really enjoyed it, but I found it wasn’t quite to my taste. When Ryan checked in with us after a few minutes, I mentioned this, and without hesitation, he asked if there was something else I’d prefer. I requested a peppermint tea, and to my surprise, he brought it out free of charge—a really kind and thoughtful gesture.
Beyond the excellent service, the food was great, the atmosphere was relaxed, and we all felt incredibly welcome—including the dogs! It’s rare to find staff who not only accommodate dietary needs so attentively but also go out of their way to make sure every guest has a fantastic experience.
We’re already looking forward to coming back, and we’ll definitely be recommending Hodo Lounge—especially thanks to Ryan’s outstanding...
Read moreI was quite excited last Tuesday to be visiting the new Hudo Lounge in Canton. The reviews were great, the decor delightful and the menu extensive but not expensive. My partner and I chose our food and I proceeded to the bar to order. I went for the Tapas Tuesday offer at £11.95 and my partner went for the chicken parmo burger at £12.50 with an upgrade to sweet potato fries for £1. My wine was included in the price and he had a glass of Fentiman’s at £3.30. The barmaid processed my order and presented me with a bill for £30.50. I quickly totted up the bill myself and it came to £28.50. I politely said that I thought she was wrong. She did the calculation on the till again and insisted she was right. I disagreed with her and she called the manager over. The manager processed my order on the till and insisted that the price was right. I disagreed and she huffed and puffed and, ignoring me, told the barmaid to do something. I was given a bill for £25.45. I mentioned the fact that it was my first visit and I was disappointed in their customer service. The manager said that she had to check what I had said and that was what they needed to do. If I had not challenged them three times I would have been overcharged by £3. Not once did either of them try to do the calculation themselves, rather than just put it through the till, and not once did they acknowledge that I was right, let alone apologize. Rarely have I been so disappointed in the customer service in any establishment in which...
Read moreNice drinks place but for food - no thanks. Service not great and food quality was poor. I could have used my burger as a hammer it was so over cooked. Wasn't offered any sauces and didn't know there were any available until the table opposite was brought some. Sadly ordering using qr code asks for tip before receiving food - stupidly I agreed and did. Top tip if you've not been before - don't.... Venue you really shouldn't request tips before being served. Thats completely on you.....
Was dining with friends who were equally unimpressed with food. Shane, as its a really nice venue. Sadly won't be returning for food - if sat scores were requested I'd give it 1...
