Saffron Cafe — Restaurant in Wales

So last time I was here was about 5 years ago while I was waiting for my car to be sorted at local garage. Had a cracking breakfast and the coffee was our of this world. Spoke to owner who said she really wanted to be known for good coffee and it was great. ..went back Sat 03/08 and oh my. Coffee hot black water, no taste. Breakfast, tinned toms nice, sausage cheap but fine, bacon once I'd cut out the unrendered fat, ok. Mushrooms boiled with no taste whatsoever, black pudding a round black disc with no taste. But worst to come, I squirted Daddy's Sauce in corner of my plate, luckily not all over, as it was not Daddy's Sauce (I always buy this). It had a really strange taste like cinnamon or something. . But even worse later this aft I've had to go loo non stop and it's brown water, I won't elaborate. . . And I've not eaten anything since my breakfast. ....

Warm and friendly greetings when I went to place my order at the till. Clean and tidy dining space. Cutlery and napkin was promptly brought to my table followed by my ½lb Monster Burger with chips, salad and delicious home made coleslaw (I assume home made, it was proper fresh and tasty 😋)

I can just see a lot of pride and care was put into this dish. The whole cafe is packed with character and love from the family running it.

Cutlery clean and hand dried; beautiful Orchids and plants aligned along the windows, spotless and no dust.

Great selection of soft drinks from the two fridges, had a warm farewell from the lady as I left. Lovely experience coming here. I felt welcomed and looked after.

This place really is up there with the worst I’ve ever eaten at for a breakfast. I had the monster breakfast delivered, and the best part was that it came piping hot. It is served with the most embarrassingly small portion of beans and tomatoes (a literally half filled ramekin pot). The toast is not toasted. I am not fussy with sausages but these ones tasted off, the eggs are also unseasoned and really tough. Hash browns and portion size were good. I also had to get chips and gravy to meet the minimum delivery order, which was inedible as the gravy was actually like glue. This would be comical if it didn’t cost the best part of...
