Quantum Cafe — Restaurant in Wales

Yesterday was my last visit here sadly. I've been going most of the summer for my large breakfast but I never feel welcome. During the summer in 30 degree heat I was always put in the window without the outside canopy / sun shade open to protect me. This was very worrying as I was recovering from skin cancer. Recently I've been put on the new small table against the wall by the main order desk. I honestly don't mind if it's busy but yesterday I was there from 10:10am until 10:45am and there were only three of us in there dining that whole time.

That new table is in a terrible place. I would keep it for staff meals only - or remove it. I felt so uncomfortable, chemotherapy means I am vulnerable to Covid but at that table there are people constantly walking past, in the queue to order or standing next to you looking straight above you at the menu while you are trying to eat. For me, this wasn't safe with Wales Covid numbers now on the rise again.

The waitress will happily look after families and workmen but she does not like solo diners at all.

A morning breakfast is my daily treat as I care full time for my Mum who is now living with me because she has late stage dementia and is now at end stage heart failure and receiving palliative care. This is my one hour out and my little break while the palliative nurse takes over. The owner of Quantum (Eddie's brother I think) is lovely and welcoming and but the one waitress does not make me feel welcome at all, in fact she makes me feel like I'm a nuisance. The other waitresses are lovely and always polite.

I will be returning to Maria in Tuck In Cafe or down with Eddie's & Rose's friendly staff in Cafe Fresco, I always feel welcome in both of these cafe's.

I see from trustpilot and reviews on here I'm not the only person to feel like this about this waitress.

I know it's not a big loss to the cafe at £7 daily (or £8 if I have a can) but because of this one waitress I am taking my money elsewhere, to somewhere I enjoy eating and I...

Best cafe around. Its not noted enough to cook good food you have to have clean place good staff etc. It has everything . So so welcoming here .marcella the lady who work there always smiling chatty happy efficient non stop cleaning tables straight away yiu won't find dirty tables here they wouldn't have it . Food is great but it's also clean if that makes sense ? Just clean no grease no sloppy looks so quality . Portions okay .coffees hot drinks amazing ..its hard to find a cafe that execlles in every way and it does here can get busy on Sundays and when workmen on break which says everything also do a takeaway service. Young girls who work here always working smiling too. Many cafes in canton but not like this tables got good space between them too not crammed in. ...

Thought we'd try again today.. used to use a lot ..don't get me wrong aiways polite ..I just feel the quality isn't there ..black pudding very thin ..the sausages have to be the cheapest of meat you can buy. (Tasteless/mushy inside) . The breakfasts don't come with coffee unlike most other places..so it wacks up the bill ..I'll stay with tuck in as they do free coffee (which is as nice and hotter) . Likely why it's often quiet now ..

If you cook cheap food..people notice and won't return. Don't fool the customer.

Not personal . I say how I see it. If you call those sausages quality., I'd hate to see your worst. This was a quantum breakfast.
