The Ivor Davies — Restaurant in Wales

Went here for a family meal and I must say I am absolutely mortified on how we were treated I had my dog with us as we had just spend a lovely day out and wanted to end the day with a meal After arriving and walking straight through the pub with my dog to the garden smoking area Also I must state the pub was Very quiet getting a seat we decided on what we wanted for food and went to place an order After arriving back to the table not one member of staff had approached me to say dogs are not aloud on the premises While they brought our food out and my niece was tucking into her food the manager came to us to say that we couldn't stay on the premises with the dog (still in the garden being very quiet) and that she would give us boxes for us to pack up the food so we could leave. After asking if we could stay in the smoking area just to eat our food we were told no I must add nobody was even in the smoking area just me and my family .we were told we could drink our drinks but had to leave after that as they couldn't give us plastic cups I have never been so annoyed and it was all because I had my dog with me sat in a garden area. Very embarrassing as members of staff kept looking at us also members of the public were making it known they knew what was going on and couldn't believe know body had said anything to us before ordering food When asked for a refund I was told as there wasn't a problem with the food I couldn't get my money back Absolute joke will not be a returning customer My dog was not doing anything wrong and was very quiet I don't see what the problem was Also to add they have cameras outside so they would have been able to see us taking a seat with the dog before ordering the food absolutely humiliated !!!! If I could give no stars...

I visited the Ivor Davies pub in Cardiff recently and sat outside having ordered drinks using the Wetherspoons App. After 20 minutes I asked one of the bar staff if my order was on it's way to which she replied 'I don't know'. After another ten minutes, I asked another member of staff, he said he didn't know either and that he would check and come and let me know. We didn't hear from him either. After a few minutes more, I enquired again, by which time an altercation had broken out with a drunk customer (this was in the afternoon) and I was told that they couldn't do anything until that was sorted. We decided to leave after 40 minutes as it didn't appear that it would be sorted any time soon. The result is that we did not receive our drinks and left having paid. There is often trouble in this pub and it's usually dealt with quickly but the service should have been much more professional. I contacted Wetherspoons and they just dismissed my enquiry by saying I should have spoken to a member of staff! We did try!!! We won't...

Called in there last week, my wife & I went outside to have a cigarette while sitting there a member of the staff who I found out later was the manager berated us for not being in the smoking area, when I pointed out we didn't know we couldn't smoke there the manager was very rude & never accepted our reason for smoking there, he told us don't bother coming back in, when we were leaving the outside table the manager came out with a No Smoking sign, if the sign was already out there we would've respected that. The manager wouldn't give us his name when asked, he was very rude & aggressive towards us. I have written to witherspoons head office over this matter & told them we'll never go back there again & my family & friends say they won't go either. The manager has lost a lot of business, witherspoons should send him on a course, charm school maybe & how to deal with customers without being rude...
