Booked online a day ahead, requested high chair on booking. All confirmed. Arrived, girl a check in (& a young man not in uniform who looked to be her boss) tried to say there wasn't a reservation in our name. My mother in law put her finger on our name (written clearly in the book just beneath both of their noses). We were shown to a table. Only 1 other group in the restaurant two adults & two young children. We were told that there was only 1 high chair & that it was in use by the other family (in a restaurant that seats about 50 people, 1 high chair). We said we'd make do without. We say down, literally 5 seconds later they tried to get us to buy drinks, we said we haven't even seen a drinks menu yet please can we have 2 minuets. At this point we're actually able to process our treatment upto this point. They returned & after abit of indecision we asked if it'd he alright if we take away seeing as we couldn't really handle our 18month & eat curry. The old man said yes, we asked if the menu was the same he said yes but it is less expensive. My wife at this point took our son out & back to the car. My mother in law & I ordered food for take away. The girl at the bar was useless again, just litterally nothing you say goes in. Perhaps the perfect example of this ... An elderly man came in whilst we waited for the food & said clearly "hello, my name is mr smith you have a booking in my name" she replied "What name is it & have you booked". He then didn't hear her because he struggled to hear & was then confused. Back in relation to our dealing with them. We were charged full restaurant prices. We were offered no discount & not really given an apology. Scouled at by the young man not in uniform (we assumed a really bad young manager but obviously not sure). We just paid because I didn't want our food spat in but honestly looking at all the other reviews about wrong food being brought out, extra items being charged for etc etc etc etc etc I think we dodged a bullet in leaving...
Read moreWe arrived Saturday at 7pm, having booked online and had confirmation. The reception was cold as they did not have our booking and not on guest list, however, on showing email we had, they sat us down!! Well 2 hours later we got our starter! This was sent back as chip peas and sauce, served cold was not what I ordered. My wife’s lamb chops looked nothing like a lamb chop, that’s me a former butcher observing that. When the main meals come, chicken dry. By this time to be frank, at least 5 tables had got up and gone without having their main meal. Cheesed off having their Saturday night experience spoilt.
This is my first review, don’t normally comment, but was so shocked felt the need to comment here. Staff not engaging at all, not taking ownership of issues, very poor service and meal was worst curry ever had. Now I can see reviews on here and if that’s their experience fine, but at least 7 families had a very bad experience Saturday 15th July. Offering to take £20 off the bill doesn’t make up for such a poor experience, won’t be rushing back here at all. Need more staff, plan out guest numbers better, takeaways effect restaurant service, too many errors here. Building and views spot on, but let’s get...
Read moreIndian Rosoi: Style Over Substance Indian Rosoi has certainly undergone a transformation, with a striking new interior that promises a refined dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality falls short of the aesthetic. While the decor is undoubtedly impressive, the food itself was a disappointment, lacking the depth of flavor and authenticity one would expect from an Indian restaurant. But the most glaring issue was the service, or rather, the lack thereof. The staff seemed utterly disinterested, their body language conveying a clear message: they would rather be anywhere else. A simple smile or a friendly word can go a long way, but these were in short supply. The restaurant's exterior also leaves a lot to be desired, with a cheap-looking ground floor establishment detracting from the overall appeal. It’s a shame, as the potential for a truly exceptional dining experience exists, but Indian Rosoi currently prioritizes style...
