The Bay Cafe is somewhat confusing when you first cross the threshold. Immediately behind the door is the counter where you order. This means that you could be in someone's way as soon as you are inside. A very congested situation is further exacerbated if someone wants to use the loo because they have to then squeeze past. When we visited April 2024 the cafe was still using its Covid screening (?) so the person behind the till had to stoop to engage with you. Because the cafe is dark inside I found getting my bearings difficult.

The food was okay. The soup, which was warm rather than hot, soon got cold because we were outside on a breezy day, but we can hardly blame the cafe for the weather. The service is a little on the slow side, to the extent that one of our party went to ask how much longer it was going to be. The big plus for The Bay Cafe is its location. Sitting outside with our dog afforded us sweeping views over Benllech Bay. There are not many cafes where you can watch Gannets...

A very small informal cafe, only opening on Friday and Saturday evenings, but during the daytime every day, in the summer, for coffee, cakes, ice creams and larger meals. Offering unrivalled views across the bay, serving delicious, (and substantial! ), meals, there is a smallish menu, supplemented by a good "specials" board daily. With very friendly and efficient staff, bookings for evenings is pretty near essential , due to its small size, and popularity, both with visitors and locals alike. I would always recommend telephoning in advance especially "out of season" to check opening times, and to guarantee a table for an evening meal. A Sunday lunch menu is also available. Prices are very reasonable for the meals offered, and the premises are licenced for alcohol sale. At the time of writing the cafe holds a top 5 star official rating...

Waited an hour for three coffees! We got our money back in the end and left. When I went in to see what was going on, another man was also asking and the girl behind the counter then said move him to the front! I even waited at the counter to buy a cab of Pepsi! All the customers were incredulous. A bacon sandwich came out about 4 times with no takers (presume they'd left) and we were asked if we were sure it wasn't ours! It was a nice morning and they were reasonably busy, but it was like Fawlty Towers. I work in food and the whole thing was a disaster. Lovely views but inept staff that couldn't cope or understand an order system. Such a shame, it...

Ambiance: With a beautiful sea view in the outdoor seating area, the cafe provides a cozy and luxurious experience. We went there for brunch and found a table within minutes but I feel we were just lucky. With approx 10 tables outside, it may be a task to find a seat outside. Food: We ordered Vegetarian breakfast with coffee. The breakfast was cheap and good but does not include vegan sausages (uurghhh). Parking: There is parking outside the cafe so one less thing to worry about but there's still not a lot of space so depends how lucky you area as well. Overall, this place is a must for enjoying the sea with a warm cup of coffee and enjoy the warm sunny breeze.

Delightful cafe perched on the edge of a beautiful sandy bay. We stopped by for a light lunch (toasties) and a drink (latte and a strawberry milkshake). As you can see from the photographs, the food was well presented and it tasted delicious too, and it arrived promptly. All the things you hope for in a cafe. Practical stuff: Parking is quite limited - maybe five or six spaces in total, split into two areas (the signposted additional parking fits three of those vehicles). Other public parking is nearby. There's two toilets inside, and a large decking outside seating area that overlooks the beach.

We always stop here either on our way to the beach, or on our way back from the beach when we stay in Benllech. I don't think we've ever had food but always get some drinks. This time we had 3 milkshakes and a bottle of dandelion and burdock. I always tend to partially judge a cafe based on how nice it's vanilla milkshake is and this one was definitely one of my favourites. They seem to have added more seating outside since the last time we came before covid which is good due to how busy it always is.
