Not great, and expecting a gaslight response that I won’t read, it seems the owner is offended by anything less than 5*: seated on a table so close to two others that I had to apologise to other diners when I went to the toilet food arrived one hr after we did. asked if the food would be coming out soon, heard presumably the owner screeching from the open kitchen that it’d not been an hour waiter came out and presented us with a piece of paper to say it’d been 51 mins. Who cares. We walked in an hr ago. More important that they’re right than we are happy - we were polite in our follow up, why wouldn’t we ask when you only have a 2 hr slot? told food was coming very soon (that was fine) but then bought out more prawn crackers without asking us, odd gesture, wouldn’t want to fill up when food is due out? Then offered drinks by the waiter, which was nice, but the screeching right next to where we were sitting made us feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome we just wanted to eat and get out of there. service from female servers disinterested at best. Table next to us found their own menus. main issue that they’d bought out the food order of a large table who were seated after us was the issue, one of their own making that they were happy to not be transparent and pleasant about. Fine you do you, but we won’t return and we’ve already put two other couples off. Absolutely not worth the weeks of waiting for a table and the 90 minute round trip. Food was fine but as it should be for the price. We felt it was ok, just not amazing. both coats needed washing afterwards. Strong smell of cooking oil as seated next to open window,...

Divine Delights at Janet’s: A Must-Visit Chinese Gem!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Janet’s, and I can confidently say it was one of the most delightful dining experiences I’ve had in quite some time. From the moment I entered, I was struck by the restaurant’s immaculate cleanliness, which set a wonderful tone for the evening.

The atmosphere at Janet’s is incredibly welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a casual meal or a special occasion. The decor is charming, and the attention to detail is evident throughout the space. It’s clear that the team takes great pride in creating a pleasant environment for their guests.

Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply divine! Each dish we ordered was a perfect blend of flavours, showcasing the rich diversity of Chinese cuisine. From the fragrant stir-fries to the beautifully presented dumplings, every bite was an absolute delight. The freshness of the ingredients shone through, and it was evident that a lot of care went into each dish.

What truly set Janet’s apart, however, was the wonderfully accommodating staff. Their warm hospitality made our experience even more enjoyable. They were attentive and genuinely eager to ensure we had everything we needed, offering helpful suggestions and accommodating any dietary preferences with ease.

In conclusion, I couldn’t find a single fault in my experience at Janet’s. This restaurant is a true treasure, offering amazing food and exceptional service. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable Chinese dining experience. I can’t wait to return for another taste of their...

Booked for 12.30 the night before our Sat visit and was told we would only have one hour but if we could come at 12, which we couldn't, we would have one and a half hours. Pleasant greeting on entering and shown straight to our table and given menu's. The waitress advised us everything was cooked fresh so would come when each dish was ready not all together and wouldn't be quick. We decided against starters due to our limited time and gave our food choices and opted for organic coffees. There was no alcohol on the lunch menu and I don't know if evening menu's have alcohol, likewise there was no dessert on the menu. Our coffees took quite a while to arrive but it was 10 past 1 before the last meal arrived with the reminder we had to leave by 1.30. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious. We did not use the toilet so can't say whether there was one or where it was. Having read reviews we knew we were in for a good experience and all in all we enjoyed our visit but would have liked a bit longer to savour our food. As a footnote we parked in the car park behind the bus station and wondered why lots of cars were parked all along the side of the access road. We found out when trying to pay there was no cash option only card which we tried several times to do before a kind gentleman advised us how to do it so be warned if you are tech...

Exquisite Chinese & Korean food in Pontypridd…of all places!? Me and my fellow dumpling loving buddy just had to jump in the car and travel down to Pontypridd Market to try Janet’s award winning Chinese and Korean food! I cannot rave enough about this place! Tucked away inside Pontypridd market is this beautifully decorated restaurant quality cafe with authentic and perfectly presented grub! We wanted everything off the menu, but we finally chose; Homemade vegetarian spring rolls with Asian slaw. Homemade Pork and Prawn Siu Mai Pork and Kimchi Bao Bun Korean Beef Bibimbap Garlic Seafood Fried Noodles Everything, every darn thing, was amazing! My top favourite dish was the Bao Buns!! So often Bao are simply steamed and if not done properly can be a little stodgy, but these were finished off in a pan which created crispy little bottoms - phenomenal! We enjoyed our feast with a rose hip tea pot and a matcha and oat milk cold tea. The decor was stunning, filled with pretty little details and an abundance of flowers. The kitchen was right next to us, where even to this day I cannot grasp how Janet can magically conjure up such high quality food in a space no bigger than 6x3 meters! Mind blowing!! Only 25 minutes from city centre. Cash only. Such wonderful staff! Go and you will NOT be disappointed!! Janet you are a rockstar!!

We dined at Janet’s on 30/07/25, our overall experience wasnt great and rhis unfortunately came down to the service. The server we had was borderline rude, it took a while for us to be served and when served her attention was drawn away so our order was only half taken. We were asked about dietary requirements to which I asked the server if any of the dishes we ordered had any pork/ pork contaminations her reply was “I think you’ll be okay”, her uncertainty put me on edge and she never came back to clarify weather the food did/didnt have pork contamination. when the drinks came the cans and glasses were slammed on the table. The food arrived and was delicious and good value for money. However, we were not checked on during our meal. We had to wait 10 minutes after finishing before our plates were collected and to ask for the bill. Overall - good food & bad service which unfortunately put a dampen on our experience .
