⚠️ Avoid Zuccos Café ⚠️

I took my 16-year-old daughter for a trial shift here on 26th June. The owner didn’t even bother to stay and supervise — he left her with another member of staff who was finishing their job at the café.

We were later told he couldn’t offer her regular shifts, which was fair enough. However, he asked for her bank details to pay her for the 4 hours she worked. These were provided on 1st July, yet as of 29th August she has still not been paid.

He now ignores all attempts at contact, and we’ve since learned that other young people have also been taken on for “trial shifts” with no pay. This looks very much like exploitation of youngsters for free labour.

I know this place is loved by Pontypridd but i must’ve gone there on a bad day. the place is clearly run by 16 year old boys that really don’t care about anything other than tossing a football around outside and filming it for social media. inside was really messy. behind the counter is open for all to see, even people eating in, and it was a complete mess. food prep still out, cuttings of fruit, used coffee cups everywhere and dirty napkins. the sink full of dishes. i don’t know, i think i was expecting more anyways. i’ve worked in coffee shops and little cafes most of my life and i wouldn’t last very long if i ignored basic...
