So I’ve given 5 stars because I really like the food and the people who run it are really nice and friendly. I feel it would be unfair to give them anything less than 5 stars based on the quality of the food and the friendly service provided. I do however have a couple of gripes.
Firstly I feel the portion sizes don’t warrant the cost. For example the breakfast bap contains one small sausage, one piece of bacon, one egg and a couple of mushrooms on a small brioche bun. This costs £5.75. I don’t like to compare this to other food vans locally as I feel that Kerbside use ingredients of a much higher quality. However I do feel that this is still quite expensive for what it is. I would expect to see at least another sausage and then I’d say the price is fair.
Secondly the prices could do with being looked at. An egg bap is £3.00 and each additional item is £0.70 according to the owners. So an egg bap with an additional sausage added should cost £3.70, however a sausage bap is £3.95. I’m not sure if you get two sausages on the sausage bap but for £3.95 I’d imagine you do. Now if you get two sausages on the sausage bap for £3.95 then it makes perfect sense.
If you get an egg bap at £3.00 and add one piece of bacon and one sausage at £0.70 each that would total £4.40, which I think is fairly reasonable. But, if you order an egg, bacon and sausage bap, which comes with one egg, one bacon and one sausage just like the above, you are charged £5.50. It doesn’t make sense 🤷🏻♂️
Please don’t see this a negative comment because although there are some negatives there are also some positives. The food is fresh, clean and of very good quality. It’s slightly overpriced. I work in a large office environment and my colleagues are of the same opinion as me. It’s a shame because we would all much prefer to eat from Kerbside and are prepared to pay a premium, however the difference in portion sizes/cost compared to other food vans is...

Read moreSuch a lovely spot to stop off after visiting Castle Coch , food is very well presented and the quality of food is excellent- very clean. Fair prices and the extra little touches go a long way, we were offered real cutlery for our breakfast boxes , instead of wooden. Our daughter spilt her drink and one of the owner’s came over quickly and insisted on cleaning it herself, and then replaced the drink free of charge. They engaged well with my children, myself, my partner and also other families that were present. I have also attended a children’s Birthday party at the village hall and Kerbside provided the food, I helped carry the children’s meals into the venue and each meal had been pre ordered and had the children’s names on a little flag for their meal, no mix ups or missing meals, very well organised, quite impressive for 30+ hot meals. The owners work really hard to cover all basis’ of great customer service - Friendly yet...
