No customer service, very rude female owner. Came here for a friend's baby shower, and in my error, I ordered what I thought was a medium dish when, in fact, it was mild. Completely my fault, I asked it I could get some chilli's or possibly swap. She refused and said, "You have ordered it we have cooked it so no. I asked if I could have it removed off the bill if they weren't willing to swap the meal because I don't like creamy dishes, again no offer of a resolution. I left the place in tears, never have I ever been so embarrassed and felt like I was being talked down to. Very disappointing. I have read through other reviews since and in hind sight realised there is zero customer service. Can't comment on the food as I only had 1 Poppadom. Don't expect any empathy, warmth or customer service with a smile from here.
I have never left a bad review for a restaurant before but I am frustrated with the service we had this evening at Parivaar. My colleague had booked a table for 8 people but the staff were very adamant and rather rude that it was for 6 people. I suggested they just add the unreserved table next to us onto our table to make it an 8 and they seemed very reluctant about doing this. The staff especially the woman who appeared to be in charge and had the best English was rather rude and dismissive, like we were a huge inconvenience to her. My colleague even asked her how hot a specific curry was and the staff member huffed and asked “well what do you mean by hot?”.
They didn’t even come and take our drink order which I found so strange, we just had to call over to the bar what we wanted which was unprofessional and meant people on the table got missed.
The food took quite a while to get to us even though the restaurant wasn’t busy at this point.
My main curry was lovely but the poppadoms were stale and the starter was cold and tasteless.
When the bill came we started to work out how much we owed and were going to leave a small tip. However my colleague looked at the bill and was shocked to see they had added their own service charge tip of £21.68!! It meant we all had to pay an extra £4 which was ridiculous when the “service” had been so poor.
I won’t be going there again, and I hope the staff acknowledge these recent reviews about their customer...
Read moreVisited Friday 9th July with my girlfriend. We booked for 7pm and duly turned up on time. We were shown to our seats and then ignored for about 5 mins. We were then asked if we wanted poppadoms to which we replied yes. We had to ask for a bottle opener even though our bottles were on the table in full view. The server brought us one but didn't bother with glasses so we drank out of the bottles. It has to be said though that wine glasses turned up later for the bottle of wine we had when we'd finished our beer without us asking. I had the samosas and my girlfriend had onion bhajis. They were tasty but very small and took us about 2 minutes to eat. The small theme unfortunately ran over to our mains. I had vegetable jalfrezi and my girlfriend had lamb pasanda. Again quite tasty but the portion sizes were very small. While it would be an exaggeration to say we counted the grains of rice it wouldn't have taken long if we had. The curries were the same and my girlfriend commented that there wasn't much lamb in hers. Another thing of note is my vegetables were not fresh as they were definitely frozen ones and there wasn't a single green chilli in it, which as far as I'm concerned is a given in a jalfrezi . So all in all a disappointing evening as when we got home about 2 hours later we were both really...
