Easy to say you have the best bagels in town when you are the only place serving them. Cold, rock hard, and for some reason, weirdly sweet. In any case, you’ll be lucky to even get one because the notion of making things fresh has escaped this so-called coffee house. Yet, the coffee is why this place gets two stars and not one, because it is palatable enough. But don’t worry, they’re happy to sell you tat instead of good coffee or nice food. There are much better choices in Bangor, despite popular belief, and you should save yourself the time and money and just go visit those. I am not sure where all of these perfect five star reviews come from, but they could not be further...
Read moreWhen I popped into Ruben's with a friend I found myself caught off guard. Here was a coffee shop with character, and I immediately felt much more happier there than I do at mist chain coffee shops.
There was a lovely warm atmosphere and the staff immediately welcomed us and took our order - My friend had a hot chocolate and I had a coffee with a bagel and cake. Top marks across the board! (I hadn't planned on having the cake, but it was so well presented that I couldn't resist!)
I'd definitely recommend Reubens, and if you haven't visited yet, you need to! You'd be missing out massively...
Read moreAlways a pleasure to visit Reuben's Coffee House. The staff are very friendly, and everything is done and served to a high standard. I personally recommend the Bacon, Egg and Cheese bagel from their food selection. The latte art provided is always a bonus.
I gave 4/5 for atmosphere simply because the shop is small and space is limited on nice days. This is obviously not the fault of the company however.
If you're looking for a small coffee shop to enioy a lovely coffee and maybe a bite to eat, Reuben's is definitely the best in upper Bangor for this....
