The museum is called 'Storiel'. I don't know what that means. I was in there only about thirty minutes (half the time I was in the cathedral). This is not because there is not much of interest - there is much to see of local archaeological discoveries, social history, and industrial traditions. And it is all displayed well in a professional and user-friendly manner. BUT, the art gallery was full of only contemporary pieces and there was only one item that attracted my eye. This may be because of limited space, curatorial choice, or simply that this is what others want to see, but I was disappointed all the same.

This is the Museum of Gwynedd's rich history. Between Wales' longest high street and Pontio in Bangor, next to the bus station. Delicious Cafe and lovely shop. Well worth a visit soon.

Lovely building to start with..The museum was very interesting and we had some yummy food in the cafe. Very much enjoyed looking at the art. The gallery is very spacious and there were a couple of different artists which was very nice. The artwork was of a very high standard and we spent most of our time in the gallery area. The staff are so friendly and made us feel very welcome. There is a well stocked gift shop with some delightful and imaginative items at reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend a visit if you enjoy any of the above ! I would give it 10/10 and it doesn't cost a penny ! Thank you Storiel and your staff for a...

Taking many of the exhibits that were in Bangor museum Storiel is a more accessible, warm and human scale space that, nonetheless, are exhibited well.

The cafe is excellent, service can be slow due to staffing levels, and the requirement to pay for café purchases at the main entrance (only a few steps away) is quirky, but not a problem, and the staff are uniformly welcoming and friendly.

Storiel also has 3 meeting rooms that are well used and very...
