Utterly fantastic Bistro /Restaurant that serves high quality local ingredients, treated with love, care and imagination, seeing reject to brasserie classics but with little local twists to make you smile. This gave my family the very best meal of our holiday 😁😋 The personal, attentive, individual and jovial customer service given by the owner made us feel thoroughly at home. Which was clearly alao the case across the well populated dining room. My wife and daughter absolutely loved their new Brunchtime Burritos. The 'Salty B' & 'Cheesy B', their only criticism was that they were then too full to take advantage of the highly tempting, but unfortunately not tasted, desert menu! The Seafood Paella was fresh and loaded with taste, the sourdough/tartine garlic bread was tasty but not over salted. The drinks selection was inspired and the knowledge of all of the ingredients, dishes and drinks on offer was evident at all times. The simple act of bringing a crisp, chilled bottle of tap water and 3 glasses, without being asked, is a classy touch so often missed by many restaurants. Judging by the high quality of the cook books which inspire the creativity of the chefs, from Galton Blackston, to Rick Stein to many varied Far Eastern delights,, the food will be satisfying and delighting the locals of Tywyn (and the odd touring family) for many years to come. I really hope the well deserved accolades do...

Absolutely incredible, would recommend every time! My boyfriend and I live in Sarasota, Florida and have come to Tywyn for the last two years. We have eaten here quite a bit at this point, sometimes planned but most of the time last minute as we know it’s always going to be good! We’ve had their mussels, lobster roll, curry’s, soft shell crab, mussels in linguine, and an absolutely fabulous dessert, the Carmel biscoff cheesecake. The seabass was incredible, and the scallops are the best we’d ever had. The owner, Scott, is a very friendly guy, down to earth and knows food! He prides himself on a simple but impactful menu with good ingredients! He cares about sourcing high quality ingredients and you can definitely taste the different in the food! Our waitress, Tilly, was also fantastic! Very attentive and genuine! One day was my boyfriend’s birthday and they went above and beyond to make it special with candles in the cheesecake and the whole restaurant joined in for “Happy Birthday”! If you’re in Tywyn, the Salt Marsh should definitely be on your...

Salt Marsh Kitchen

Earlier in the day my husband and I were discussing what and where our favourite meal has been in the 7 years we've been married, after eating just the starter course at Salt Marsh Kitchen, a milestone, a memory and a favourite place to eat was birthed as we devoured the mushroom bruschetta and mackerel starter, and every other course that came after just amplified the experience. If you want a meal that has a homely and welcoming feel but when eating feels like you're in a Michelin Star restaurant then go to Salt Marsh Kitchen. They say youth has no experience, well Scott Paterson is smashing experience in the face. He was friendly and knowledgable about his food and the wine, and was happy to enter into conversation about his culinary history. This guy knows his stuff. Now in our top 3 best eating experiences ever, my husband and I look forward to a long and happy eating relationship with Salt Marsh Kitchen in the years to come as we fall more in love with the...

If I could give more stars, I would! Salt Marsh Kitchen is a phenomenal establishment effortlessly delivering a variety of delicious, creative - yet familiar - dishes which focuses on fresh produce and is, of course, inspired by the sea. The restaurant itself is quaint and cosy (make sure you book ahead in the busy holiday season), accompanied by attentive yet relaxed service. As for the food - what a delight. From flavourful starters, such as Pork Belly Bao Buns, to hearty Bass Panzanella and the unmissable Coconut Panna Cotta - every mouthful at Salt Marsh Kitchen is a flavour sensation. Drinks are also quite tasty too, with a fabulous selection of Welsh gins plus an extensive wine menu available. Overall, Salt Marsh Kitchen must not be missed if you're visiting Tywyn. We absolutely love it here and can't wait to return again, and again, and again!
