Location is nice, staying next door in Travelodge. The view wasn’t too bad and it’s really quite out back. Bad points. Your drinks are all left on the bar waiting to be taken out… with people walking right by it all the time. The tables are not cleaned nor are the plates etc taken away fast. You are only aloud to be here for 2 hours at your table it says. It took 45 min for my food to come out. Had no email or text back saying it was coming after 35min I asked. I ordered a pint of lemonade but didn’t get it. Getting onto the food. The chips I got was over cooked harder then what you would like and not so soft inside. Also only got about 16 of them felt a bit small, the meat was good in some cases stale good pork good. Sausage was over done, the other meats was dry. If you are with 3 or Vodafone you won’t get much Signal here but the WiFi once connected is not bad at 50mb up and down. The bad part is the website they use for the ordering etc is really bad. It took me 20 min to order, people around me also had the same problems and some left due to this. Comparing this to others out there who sends an email right away and shows you what isn’t in stock this doesn’t do any of that. The staff are over worked and understaffed from what I could see.

A fantastic end to a lovely day in Rhyll! Listen, it's a Marston's pub, so the food is like most Marston's pubs, perfectly edible & filling but isn't going to get any Michelin stars..... The reason for 5 stars is purely down to the staff, especially the man & woman commanding front of house today (4th June, 6pm)! We turned up after a day dog walking, & it was quite busy, so we were planning to sit outside to eat, not knowing 100% how the dog would deal with it. But they gave the dog a fuss, reassured us it wouldn't be a problem, & found us a table. They didn't mind checking with the kitchen what order times were like (we had a long journey to get back) & once they cleaned the table, they seated us at the tables with menus (including full allergens folders). The bar staff were quick, efficient & friendly. Upon ordering the doggy Sunday roast, they fetched the bowl & piled it high. The dog definitely had no complaints about the food & happily laid down under the seat whilst we ate. The only downside was that as they were so busy, were weren't able to say thanks as we left 👍😁 Rhyll is a fantastic place for dog walkers, so we will be back, & we'll definitely be back at the Sun Verge without a doubt!!

Sorry about the empty food plate photos, once it hit the table, the smell got to me and I inhaled it. Had the spicy ultimate burger, 8 onion rings, lasagna, side of chips, 3 pints, 45 odd-quid. Excellent value, especially for the killer view, outdoor dining, plenty of sauces (rarer at pubs now) and extra helpful and cheerful staff! The food was nothing close to 'Value', genuinely burger was on par with £20+ options at popular steakhouses, loaded up, but not soggy despite the amount of sauce and pulled pork, couldn't ask for more. Visiting the area, however will be going out of our way to visit on the way home for some more grub. Bar fully stocked, fridges full of wine, and again, great, helpful staff. Also, massive congrats to the team at the bar, upon arrival a hard of sight and hearing customer was ordering, and there was a slight barrier with communication, however they were caring, showed empathy, and got the lovely lady sorted and rang up! Plus, they got someone out to support immediately, which meant we didn't have to wait a second extra, and meant they had all the time they needed to assist the more vulnerable customer! Amazing service again

We chose to sit outside just to the right of the restaurant under the shelter. We ordered food via the bar and drinks via the app. Whilst waiting I asked a member of staff to clean up the table as was full of dirty glasses and plates, she said I cant but I can give you a cloth. She sprayed the cloth a few times and handed it to me so I cleaned and cleared the table myself. Whilst waiting for the food which took 40 minutes to arrive which is expected during a busy day, my daughter who's 8 who is on the spectrum thought she was helping by going inside and getting us cutlery and sauces etc which wer on tables inside. Unknown to myself , I was unaware that she had taken from a unsat table just she had collected what we needed and was thanked by me for being helpful. Within 5 minutes a staff member (blonde hair in a pony tail) came to the table, took the things back and proceed to say to my daughter 'you little theif' I was quite shocked by this and it took a few minutes to process what she had actually said to my daughter. This member of staff clocked off I think about 3pm as she walked past us on her way out. I was absaloutely disgusted so when the food arrived I told the member of staff who brought the food to us. He apologised on her behalf but its not the point. A member of your staff shouldn't be saying anything like that to children and think it is acceptable. My daughter is on the spectrum so she didnt understand, she just thought she helped us set the table up before food. Absaloute disgrace and I hope she never speaks to any children like that again. We did have a problem with the food where I ordered my daughter a burger from the kids menu, I specifically asked for it plain but with cheese. Unbeknown to me I wasn't charged for the cheese, anyway the food came out , burger bun rock hard , no cheese...I mentioned it to the waiter who checked with the chef who said im sorry u didnt pay for cheese at the bar , it will 79p to put cheese one her burger. He took the £1 ,took my daughters plate as we asked for a fresh bun so it was edible and we was presented with a piece of cheese slice on a plate. It was shocking service, it was uncomfortable and we wont be...

We booked a table however when we arrived there was a sign that stated you could find your own table and order at the bar, I questioned with one of the staff and he confirmed we should sit anywhere even though there were reserved tables. There were no cleared tables so we just sat and pushed the dirty crockery to the side. I placed an order for 3 drinks, 2 carveries and a meal from the menu, the drinks came quickly along with the receipt that we could take up for carvery which we did. We waited over 5 minutes for someone to attend the carvery, you could see from the veg that it had been sitting under the hot lamps for a while but we gave it all a stir. Whilst we were waiting for someone to attend to us a member of the team walked passed us 4 times, no apology for our wait and it was only when I asked for us to be seen to did he actually ask for someone. The carveries were eaten and I went to the bar to order dessert, I also questioned how long the meal from the menu was going to take because it had been well over half an hour at this point. The lady behind the bar asked if the other meals had been carvery to which I confirmed and she just nodded in agreement, like it was expected. My meal finally around 55 minutes after I had ordered, I didn't have time for a dessert as everyone else in the party had finished.

I understand that it is busy in the Summer months, I live in the area and the Sun Verge is evidently understaffed but my 'complaint' is mainly around the service. I didn't receive an apology for my food taking so long, the team member that walked passed us 4 times whilst waiting for carvery could have asked someone to attend to us the first time he spotted us. We have been a few times and even though it does always seem to be understaffed the service has always been great however I feel like this visit has put me off coming again. The whole place was untidy and even the outside was full of empty glasses, even on the play park.

It definitely needs more staff, maybe if the team that were there already weren't so exhausted they would be able to give a...

I went to the Sun Verge as it was my favourite place to eat when I lived in Rhyl a few years ago. Sadly, I wish I hadn't, the staff were lovely, polite, helpful, and cheerful, the manager, however was vile. He was rude, obnoxious, and very unhelpful. I ordered meat free sausages with my carvery but was told I would have to wait a few minutes, no problem, I went to collect my vegetables etc from the carvery counter and sat at my table which the young guy who served me entered into the till. I finished my complete meal but still no meat free sausages had arrived, still not really a problem, but as I had paid for them I still wanted them. I went to the bar and the young girl and young man were really helpful and couldn't apologise enough, however they said they needed to speak to the manager. So I went with them to speak to the 'manager', he said to me, "where have you been? We have been looking all over for you to tell you we don't have meat free sausages", I said I have been sitting at the table, the number of which was entered into the till. He disputed this fact, but I had, obviously, not moved as I had been eating the rest of my carvery. He repeated this statement more than once, but when I tried to tell him I hadn't moved as I was eating he rolled his eyes and said whatever you can have a spinach tart instead. I said okay, then he said it will take around 5 - 7 minutes, I said no problem I will just go to check on my dogs and I will come back In 5 minutes. When I got outside I was really upset because I was spending Christmas alone for the 1st time and was really looking forward to being around other people enjoying Christmas. I couldn't bring myself to go back in to face this rude man again so I went home. I am so throughly disappointed about my experience and very sad, especially as it was the Christmas season, but my day was ruined by this...
