Went for Sunday roast - and arrived not long after noon. First off the veggie roast no longer comes with Yorkshire pudding (shock horror! - but I was able to add one for and extra £1. I was impressed when my plate of food first arrived. It looked like a truly edible feast. However, the nut roast was a bit sloppy and had red peppers in it - which was not to my taste - but which others may enjoy. Unfortunately the roast potatoes ( the absolute heart of a Sunday roast!) were hard and tasted mostly of oil. It must be difficult to make roast potatoes en masse and keep them tasting fresh because it seems that restaurants have a difficult time getting them right. Veggie gravy tastes like bog standard Bisto - ‘just add boiling water’ stuff - which was disappointing because I loved the Flora’s veggie gravy from a couple of years ago which was served with a celeriac roast then. The star of the roast was a side of tenderstem broccoli served with wild fresh garlic and a pesto butter - which I could happily have...

Note to Other Publicans 'You could learn a lot from The Flora'

I could write on and on about this place - but in short it is absolutely brilliant, it ticks every box. Having worked in the hospitality industry for some years and owning a couple of my own bars/restaurants, it's really refreshing to come somewhere like this where it has heart and love for what it does.

The Lovely staff, great vibe, drinks food value for money. It really is bang on. I'm not often in Cardiff but when I am this place is my immediate go to. I'm not sure if it's just Sundays but kids under 10 eat for free.

Roasts are between ÂŁ7.50 and ÂŁ9 and the portions are great AND the food is really very tasty. Mid week seasonal food and drinks menu is also brilliant. Truly almost too good to be true, but it is true..

Can't recommend this place enough. The owners and staff should be beaming with pride. (The cheese board, The Savoy could learn from that...

Caitlin is, without a doubt, the queen of fun and the ultimate quizmaster. She has this incredible ability to light up any room with her energy, creativity, and wit, and her quizzes are nothing short of legendary. Whether it's a themed trivia night or a spontaneous quiz during a hangout, Caitlin brings her A-game every time. Her questions are the perfect mix of clever, quirky, and challenging, and she somehow always knows how to include something for everyone. With Caitlin in charge, it's never just a quiz—it’s an experience filled with laughter, surprises, and moments you’ll be talking about long after it ends. Her love for bringing people together shines through in every round, and it's impossible not to have a good time when she’s at the helm. Caitlin doesn’t just make great quizzes—she makes...

Been visiting the Flora for 25 years and it's changed a hell of a lot over that time. Love the outdoor area, inside is nice with comfortable seating and clean toilets. Decent choice of beers, nothing amazing but the Guinness is great and Neck Oil is decent for an IPA, they also had a good selection of Ciders. The food at the moment is superb, clearly a very good chef. We loved the special 'chicken, sage and Truffle Croquetas with gravy mayo', chicken tenders with Miso mayo and spiced honey were also great. Really enjoyed the masala potato with cheese flatbread. Lamb Burger was great, Japanese 'dirty' fries were fine (for ÂŁ6 probably the only dish I wouldn't order again) Can't wait to return to try a few more dishes, some of the best pub grub in Cardiff.
