The Mulberry, Conwy Marina — Restaurant in Wales

We arrived and found a table outside as it was a nice sunny day. We ordered food, and then a table at the front of the outdoor area became available so we moved (literally the table in front of where we were sitting, above 6ft away). It was partially our own fault and we should of informed them that we had moved tables but a waitress came out and said there was a delay on our food because they had threw it away as they thought we had left even though we had paid for our food. We said that we were keeping an eye out for them bringing our food out, but no one came out with it. The waitress said that a waiter had come out and asked around, but we had literally moved 6ft and no waiter or waitress had come anywhere near us. We found it strange that the waitress knew exactly where to find us and came straight over to us. She also said that the food had been thrown away and being remade, but after 2 minutes after talking to us the food came out and was barely warm, so I don't think they actually threw anything away. Never in my life have I seen chargrilled chicken wings on a menu. When they were served to us they had not even seen a char grill!!! Otherwise they would have been charred!! Instead they were anaemic, boiled, grey looking chicken wings. The 2 portions were in edible and sent back to the kitchen requesting they be deep fried. The waitress returned to say "they won't do that!!!" So they refunded the items rather than fixing the problem. The main courses were over priced and a poor portion for the cost. When you eat out you expect it to be better quality and if a higher standard to that whic we experience at home. Its a treat. We spent a lot of money to be very very underwhelmed. The 30ft long bar had just one service poin, so people are forced to line up across the bar and out of the door. THIS IS NOT HOSPITALITY!! Bars are designed to be long to AVOID line ups!!! This is a beautiful property, bursting with potential in a great location. But the F &B quality, portion sizes, service and production needs a massive shake up! Update 2024. , knocked of another star due to people drinking standing up and almost banging into where we where sitting, meal took to long and no staff member asked how the meal was, and the wore thing was dogs passing us who smelled putting me of my meal, this was my Father’s Day meal .Update 2022 still everything below ,but had to knock of a star today due to poor choice and expensive deserts and lack of desert choices I have never been out for a meal ever without having a dessert sadly had to today . The service is excellent and will put them selves out to help you in any way. The choice of food is huge and you get plenty if not to much. Was all hot and well presented. The views of all the yaughts and the sea is just amazing and can be seen from inside. Right next door is the beatufull conwy Marina where you can see some boats, yaughts and more also a gift shop.
