Played here on Wednesday and I have to be totally honest for the sake of constructive feedback and tell you I was disappointed. Only 2 years ago we were paying half what you pay now for a winter green fee - I understand the price of everything has increased but for it to double is a joke. Especially when we turn up after a 2 hour drive to be told the fairways are closed and mats are in operation. The fairways were bone dry as always and this was massively excessive! If the green fee was still reasonable this would be easier to swallow but to be doubling your green and insisting on fairway mats is crazy. Conwy used to be a super humble golf course - good value, great condition and overall felt like a brilliant day out. Now it feels like they have taken advantage of the influx of golfers since lockdown by ramping up the prices. We rung the club the day before to ask about course conditions and there was zero mention of fairway mats. We also avidly checked the course status on the website and again - zero mention of fairway mats. My advice would be to be transparent and warn paying visitors of such conditions so they don’t travel 2 hours in search of dry fairways to be told they must play from a mat all the way round the golf course....

Greens were standout - smooth and consistent - a pleasure to putt on. Good variety of Holes, some made even more testing by the strength of the wind.
With no directional signs (I gather they were removed before the Curtis Cup) it would be easy to play the wrong hole or fairway in a few places if you weren't with someone who knew the layout - luckily we were.
Welcome in pro shop and bar was very friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed the food and drink, which was reasonably priced and served promptly.
Great day out and made great fun by our playing partners Paul and Margaret from Burnley GC. Look forward to returning to Conwy again for another open. The very early start and 400 mile round trip were...

Paying £200 for 4 days 20 of us set off for a lovely golfing break. First 2 days lovely weather and a great time. Unfortunately 3rd day torrential rain meant we had the finish at the 10th. Flooded fairways and bunkers. Any chance of a reduction for our 4th day?
No. The course apparently was still playable and therefore it was our fault we had walked off.
4th day and light rain so we commenced on time but rain quickly became worse. End result we played between 2 holes and 8 holes before having to walk off. What would happen now? Well in a "very generous" offer we can go back in the future for 1/2 price. So £100 down the pan then. Not one of us likely to go to that course again. Beware of booking if you think the weather may be bad. You won't get...
