Went to the Old Crown this morning, menus on the table waiting for us when we arrived. I amended a skinny breakfast by adding mushrooms, spinach and beans with no fuss. Was told to make it my own as it’s about nourishing people. Flat white arrived promptly and I got a couple of pieces of cake to take out.
Love the short hand of the people taking orders, always good to have a mush and a bit of spin with your food. Good craic delivered with a wry smile.
Had the pleasure of a very well behaved dog sitting next to me but no where near the food or table. It’s a dog friendly cafe so if you’re not up for that it’s not the place for you.

My 5 month old baby was in the pram and the women came over and asked me to “move THAT out the way”. “That” being my son 🙃. Owner was talking to other customers saying, quote "do not want kids under 30 here" (which I am) "do not want families" and do not want "people who don't book" or "people on a diet" . We were too awkward to order food!!!! We where not wanted there at all! Also menu said £2.50 for regular coffees however they charged us £2.80 for the large ones!!!
