Great welcoming and friendly pub in the heart of Cardiff Bay. We come here often on a Saturday night and get a warm welcome from fellow locals and the bar staff. The bar staff can’t do enough for you. They always greet each customer and you often see them walking around keeping on top of collecting empties and making sure everyone is ok. The music in the background is great, always an 80s playlist and not too loud either. A couple of times we’ve been sat with the TV off and they have come over and asked what we’d like on it or if the TV is on and we’re watching they check if we want the volume on. What a lovely friendly place to visit for a drink. We arrived by chance there last night and instantly felt very welcome. Covid rules were in place without you feeling to confined or on edge that you may do the wrong thing. Bums on seats and you have your table for as long as you want. Both the manager and the lady behind the bar as she put it 'the gopher' made our night. We returned again this afternoon and again the warm welcome was there. The heart of the Docks. this is the very first pub I have ever felt the comfort of visiting solo and walking out with more friends than a lifetime can fit, and already planning my next visit. I can confidently say this is the core of Cardiff bay and the only, if not most recognised, pub to represent and display the true tradition of its residency and its people.
