Venu — Restaurant in Wales

Worst experience I have had for a long time. Ordered 2 meals, a tea and a coffee at the bar. All very jovial. Barman told me it wouldn't be long. 30 mins later (not the issue). Our food arrived, no cutlery, condiments or our drinks. I asked about our drinks, the same barman who served me, told me that the other barman had left them on the bar. He went off to get our cutlery and, I thought our drinks. Several mins later, he returned with the cutlery. Food already going cold. So tucked in. Halfway through our food I was now spitting feathers. No sign of any service, so left my half eaten food and went to the bar. My now stone cold drinks were still there. The same barman who served me then informed me that it was only table service for food. He was quite happy to lay the blame on me and leave it like that. I asked if they would at least refresh my drinks. The barman walked into back, I thought to check if he could do this. It turned out not to be the case, he had just walked away from me and left me hanging. My half eaten meal getting even colder. At this point, I turned to the other barman and I must concede, did say that the first chap had p**ed off into the back and I was left there not knowing what was going in. The first chap then came back out of the back and wanted the issue to be about the fact that I had swore. I was given a fresh drink and I think my food might have been nice when it was warm. But even if it had have been my mistake and I should have gone back for my drinks, shouldn't someone have told me before they went stone cold? My table number was on the order. Just didn't like the not my job pal attitude . Needless to say, I won't be going back...

Dreadful experience all round. Came for some lunch with the family while on holiday. Majority of the menu was unavailable, which was on the smaller side annual. Told the wait would be extra long due to a large party being served, which is understandable. While waiting for our meals we were told one of the options was unavailable and given an alternative. When our meals finally arrived we were then told that they’d run out of the fish, you’d think after a 30-45 minute wait they’d of told you much sooner. When a refund was requested and a conversation with the manager we were met with aggravation and attitude. The situation was handled terribly and not a single apology was given from any of the staff we spoke to. DO NOT ATTEND THIS ‘VENU’.

Note to management, an investigation and disciplinary action is required on your half. The attitude of your tall blonde staff member (didn’t catch his name) was unacceptable and will cost you a lot of business if not dealt with correctly. Happy to give a full account if you wish to discuss the...

I went out onto the terrace and there were tons of empty plates and glasses that noone had collected on all the empty benches. Then went to the bar and was ignored even though I was one of two at the bar and would be next to be served. Not even a "be with you in a minute". No signs I could see to say they stopped serving food at 3, however someone joined the queue at the bar and asked about food. He said "we stop serving at 3". A little tip would be to collect the food menus and not leave people to think they can order. Anyway they opened discussion on getting just chips and I was still ignored so I left without ordering. Clearly not interested in either customer service or my money, shame really, as seemed a nice location......
