Nestled in the heart of Walsall, The Black Country Arms is nothing short of a local treasure. This charming pub perfectly captures the spirit of the Black Country, offering an authentic atmosphere that feels warm, welcoming, and wonderfully traditional.

The first thing that strikes you is the impressive selection of real ales and craft beers on tap. With a rotating selection of over a dozen ales, including local brews, it’s clear that they are passionate about quality and variety. Whether you're a seasoned beer connoisseur or just someone looking for a good pint, there's something here for everyone.

The pub's character is enriched by its history, evident in the cosy, wood-paneled interior and the classic pub décor. There's a sense of heritage that runs through every corner, but it never feels outdated—just charmingly timeless. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to recommend a drink or a dish from their hearty, classic pub menu.

Food at The Black Country Arms is another highlight. With generous portions and an emphasis on British comfort food, you’ll find everything from homemade pies to traditional Sunday roasts that leave you satisfied and ready for a return visit.

Located just a stone’s throw from Walsall’s historic town centre, this pub is perfect for both locals and visitors seeking a true Black Country experience. Whether you're there for a casual drink, a filling meal, or simply to soak in the ambience, The Black Country Arms delivers in every way. It’s a must-visit for anyone...

This is possibly in top 10 real ale pubs in England. Many real ales are always on see picture and always well kept by knowledgeable bar staff here Tuesday 7th March 2023 I revisited this gem of a locals proper real ale pub Today, a plethora of hand pumped ales on offer is possibly one of the largest in Great Britain. This pub has to be one of the best proper pubs for real ales in Saturday 20th April 2024 This is one of the best real ale pubs in the United Kingdom. I've been in 2000 real ale pubs read all my previous reviews of the wonderful real ale pub Keep up this great work all involved Usually, double figures of hand pumped ales on offer Saturday 14th September 2024 This pub in Walsall has always served a great pint of real ales and has so many real ales on it is a must to drink real ales on and there all well kept. My only concerns were today that the staff were very lack lustre and the service waiting time was far to long. I waited 10 minutes to be served, and people queuing behind me got...

Having recently visited this pub on a very rare occasions I can't review the food.Bar service was outstanding during our last visit we were greeted by two gentlemen on a Friday the 22nd of March. They where absolutely astounding in and of them selfs I dont drink ales personally, but the shorter of the two advised me on a lovely pale ale which i will continue to seek out at other establishments within the west midlands,we will of cause be coming back again time and time again.Customer service alone, Its such a delight to walk into a establishment with such character and great ales. I would highly recommend if not for anything else but for the two lively gents i met on my visit.

Establishment:8/10 Customer services:10/10 Choice of refreshments:9/10

By far best bar in walsall due...

updated Oct 2024 hmm.. they dont sell commerical ales i prefer. but the barman (forgot to ask his name) is knowledgeable about ales available [huge selection] he recommended "fireside" which was a delicious pint for my sweeter tastes [clear and good temp]... but there was only cobs available foodwise (monday evening) standard cobs, not particularly soft, but the onion and cheese is fresh. atmos is ok for a city centre pub, the seats are shiny leather (downstairs) so i found myself slipping off them... not that comfy and the downstairs fireplace is of plastic variety. board games for the kids (and big kids)! nice touch... dog friendly policy sealed the deal. if they served hot food on mondays (this would be 5 star experience). can recommend.

An amazing building that is around 400 years old. The interior of the pub has some great wooden features behind the bar and wonderful old memorabilia on the walls. Around 20 handpulls that includes ales, stouts and ciders. Bar snacks available and food, although I didn't have a meal on this occasion I enjoyed a pork pie! I was told there's live entertainment on some Saturdays, including high quality acts. When I was here on a Wednesday afternoon, there was cricket on the screen. Will definitely return.

One of my favorite public houses with loads of real ales always on pull. Always clean and inviting with a fresh choice of homemade cobs and also food served most days. The staff have a good knowledge of the beers they serve and can guide you through the choice of real ales. I would definitely recommend this venue as a fantastic place to stop and enjoy the culture.
