Had a wonderful time visiting the Walsall Leather Museum! The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich history of leather production in Walsall, which has been a center for leather craftsmanship for centuries. The exhibits are well-organized and feature a variety of artifacts, from traditional tools to beautifully crafted leather goods. The museum also has a lovely shop where you can find unique leather products, perfect for gifts or a treat for yourself. One highlight was the opportunity to create a customized key ring right on the spot for just £0.60! You can choose your design and have your name added—it makes for a perfect keepsake. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the enjoyable experience. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

My review is purely about the 5* hygiene rated cafe at the museum (located around the side). The cafè is called Claudia's Kitchen and the food is always amazing, the staff are polite🖒🏼 You have a wide range of choices from a selection of cakes and sandwiches, jacket potatoes, traditional Jamacian dishes like jerk chicken, rice n peas and much more; available on different days! The museum and cafè are both closed on Mondays and Sundays however open ever other day in the week😍 until around 5pm. The only downside for me is that there is no parking facilities close by to access cafè, except Tesco's where you only get 30mins free then spend £5 in Tesco's.

I was pleasantly surprised when I visited this museum. There was no entry fee, so completely free to learn about the history of leather in Walsall and the West Midlands. The museum is small but filled with history. Just a short walk from the town centre and the Walsall Rail Station. There is a small cafe on site so you can sit and eat. What I found is that a lot of people don't realise that there is a picnic area on one side of the building that is rarely visited. It is very easy to miss this gem if you are not looking, but worth the time to explore.

Lived in this area for 30yrs and never been before the easter holidays. To be honest only went in for to needing to kill some time as my car was that the garage. But me and my boys had an enjoyable time.... more so than expect all round. And they enjoyed making their own keyrings (the one who double stamped his keyring was offered another go but he said no) And the gentlemen who were upstairs doing the keyrings were lovely having a chat with us and other people. It was a miserable day out and even sat and had a hot drink before going back out.

We had an absolutely fabulous day out here. The staff are super friendly and helpful, with a special mention for Ian who was so informative and spent ages chatting with us about local history whilst we made some key rings! All of the museum has disabled access and the lift can be accessed with help from a member of staff. This place is full of brilliant local history that should be treasured and preserved for future generations!

Description
Walsall Leather Museum is located in Walsall, in the West Midlands in England, and was opened in 1988, in a Victorian factory building renovated by Walsall Council. It tells the story of the leather trade in Walsall, charting the town's rise from a small market town into an international saddle-making centre.
