Very pleased I poked my head in, asking if they served AF beer and if I could see the menu. Crispy crispy skin on a generous sized fillet of sea bass, subtle chorizo bits nestled in loads of chickpeas, with red pepper sauce that thankfully, was beautifully balanced acidity and sweetness (too many places throw unnecessary amounts of sugar into the sauce). I’m convinced the desserts would be amazing if the 2 little morsels of brownie that came with the bill were anything to go by. A big thank you to the delightful waitress, Emily because if it weren’t for her warm reception, and encouragement to take a seat, I’d bave missed out on this treat of a meal.

On-road parking is very limited, although there was ample space in the pay & display around the corner. The fixed price lunch menu is very good value (3 courses for under £20, including a free glass of wine or fruit juice), and there was nothing particularly wrong with the food when I visited, but it was all a bit underwhelming. The 'rocket, beetroot & pine nut salad' with the grilled goats cheese starter was just garnish; the fish that came with the fish and chips was overcooked and had a strong oily taste; and the pistachio ice cream that came with the treacle tart had a very strange medicinal flavour. Worth considering, but don't expect too much!

First time dining here tonight with family and it didn't disappoint. This place has a really nice bistro vibe which is sort of upper rustic if such a term exists. Really great service, warm and friendly atmosphere and we really enjoyed all our food. We did share a dessert but I enjoyed it so much I forgot to take a photo. Definitely park in the queen and castle car park behind as way less faff. Check out the specials as they are delicious. I was a bit like meh the menu looks OK, but I had a feeling it would all be really nice and it was fresh, well sourced end just yum! Check this place out for an occasion or just because!

Four of us had afternoon tea. However, I was a little disappointed in the selection of sandwiches. We had three small finger sandwiches each, one egg, one ham and tomato, and one cheese and pickle. Two of us had the prosecco option, and for £4.95 extra, we had a very small glass, so it was not value for money there. Cakes, however, were nice, although I would have preferred more savoury options. We had a lemon cupcake, carrot cake, chocolate brownie, and scones with jam and cream. Unfortunately, the service was not as I would have expected as we had to keep asking for things, and not once did anyone ask if everything was ok, I felt the attention was on a larger party. It's the first time I had been to Harringtons and had always read great reviews, but I was left...

4 of us had Christmas Day lunch 2018. The "bubbles" on arrival poor quality. Starters pigeon breast and black pudding, gravlax, scallops v good Brie with poached pear not enough Brie. Main courses lamb rack meat over cooked, turkey tasteless, duck very good taste. What let the whole meal down were the vegetables parsnips v over cooked roast potatoes were inedible firstly being so hard you could not cut them sprouts inedible so undercooked could not even pierce them with a fork, cabbage over cooked. Christmas pudding nice but not exceptional. We dinned at the Clarendon Arms in 2017 and couldn't fault the meal what has gone wrong? At £75 a head we were very...

Visited back in June 2023. The breaded brie wedges with chilli jam were indulgent and flavourful. The Sunday Roast was fantastic, all the meat was beautifully done, lovely and tender, the Yorkshire pudding was huge but didn't sit too heavy, trays of veggies on the side all of which was cooked perfectly. Easily worth the price, which seemed pretty good value anyway for the type of eatery and the location. To top it off the rum and raisin ice cream was superb.

The place is small, but it helps the atmosphere. Plus we were a larger group and they were very accommodating. All the staff were fantastic, especially given how busy it was, they didn't...
