I booked afternoon tea for four people a good week in advance. However on arrival the reserved table only had three chairs and was barely big enough for two let alone four adults. When the tea arrived it was presented on a wooden tier that was broken and kept wobbling from side to side. We were offered a choice of four different sandwich choices. Each different sandwich round had been cut into three making it difficult to share between four people. Again there were inadequate provisions for four people as we were given four small pieces of Victoria sponge cake (one was tiny and squashed) and two small pieces of toffee cake which we then had to cut in half. I wouldn't have minded small portions if they had catered properly for four of us. It felt stingy and more like a tea for three people. When the scones were delivered, we asked for plain scones however they only provided fruit scones. The scones were not warmed, very dry and glutenous. The young serving staff were pleasant but seemed overworked and did not revisit our table to check everything was ok. We asked for clean plates which never came. The cafe itself is a very pretty place, however the service and afternoon tea could...

šŸ“Time for Tea

Pancakes (Ā£4.95) - Homemade pancakes served with vanilla ice cream and Nutella Cadbury’s Hot Chocolate (Ā£2.95)

Verdict: I stumbled upon this little tea room which is located on Castle Hill Road (few blocks across the castle) during my visit to Kenilworth Castle šŸ° I was awestruck with the whole setting of the place - it was a stretch of tiny coffee shops clustered together, and they looked like they came straight out of colonial times šŸ˜ This cosy tea room is the perfect spot if you need a retreat from the bustling city as the ambience is so peaceful and homey.

The downturn to it was the food 😩 Pancakes were mediocre, however the hot chocolate was disastrous. All I wanted was a good mug of hot chocolate on a cold autumn morning, but to my dismay I got the complete opposite. It was extremely diluted, the cocoa powder wasn’t mixed well and it was EXTREMELY BITTER (I added multiple packets of white sugar yet the bitterness couldn’t be undone). It’s really a shame that the food and beverage here is below par because I believe there’s so much potential for them to improve given the stunning surrounding and number of tourists...

We went there for breakfast yesterday with my friends. I didn’t want to order a full plate so I just ordered hashbrown, eggs, avocado and toast as sides. When my food arrived it was avocado on toast with one piece of hashbrown without eggs. I said that wasn’t what I ordered and they took my plate back. After 17 mins the same food arrived with additional undercooked poached eggs -which was their choice no one asked me how I wanted my eggs-, everyone was already finished their breakfast and I was the only one sitting there with a bad americano. I don’t think I will ever go back to this place, it was one of the worst...

Owen, Emily and the team hosted my sister’s baby shower at the weekend, the service was excellent, the food was incredible (vegan, GF and vegetarian food included) and I couldn’t recommend Time for Tea enough! Vest decorating was an amazing added extra and such a cute idea. Nothing is too much trouble for them and that’s what makes it such a gorgeous place to visit.

Lovely little cafĆ© with amazing food and friendly staff. I had the healthy breakfast which was delish!... And cake šŸ™ˆ The red velvet was delicious. The breakfast was a good price and came with tea or coffee which kept being topped up before I'd even finished the last one 😁 Will be back for sure!
