Not one of the better Starbucks.
Been here a few times, and not once had a "good" experience. On the plus side, it is clean and well-kept.
On the downsides, even when there's hardly any queue it can be a 10 minute wait to get served (quite often have turned up to no queue, and no-one serving). The staff seemed more concerned about stacking the already mostly full cake counter than serving people (this has happened a few times). Even after being served, it is a LONG wait for drinks, and they are not well made.
This weekend we visited to get some "quick" bites (cold prepacked food) before we went home, but were not even served for more than 10 minutes while "drink orders were cleared". Incredibly frustrating that there's no-one even serving so I could sit down with my toddler rather than stood next to the counter being ignored. Had my drink shoved onto the side and the name called while the girl walked away, but no straw provided for a frapaccino, so had to wait until the next person's drink came up to grab a staff member's attention to ask for one. The collection area is also a mess, with staff incorrectly labelling and packing the takeaway orders (causing chaos) while delivery pickups stand in the way of people getting to the pick up ledge.
The staff are never particularly friendly and seem irritated to have customers.
Final note... the counter covid QR code is behind the messy barrista section, too far away for the app to essily scan it - use one of the ones hap-hazardly taped to the windows, it's much easier and you'll get scowled at less by staff while you're trying...
Read moreDuring the COVID-19 pandemic, as someone who still had to work I came here twice with my partner.
Personally, I thought service was well the first time. However, the second time. My partner who was mixed race asian-american was asked to leave for not social distancing (despite having to move to a no sit zone due to others not) meanwhile all of the white customers who were not social distancing were not asked to leave. At all.
Needless to say, it has made me extremely irked to return at all. I am normally quite open and understanding of certain situations. However, this situation had made my partner heavily uncomfortable and sad to a point he avoided the area for a few months.
It now has just become quite uncomfortable to know this all and hearing that others of different races and disabilities have been treated I'll at this Starbucks (including an heavily asthmatic friend of mine told to wear a mask and told staff did not care for her exemption reasoning. Even going as far to show them her inhalers AND still told to wear it) it has made me quite upset as someone vulnerable myself.
Apologies for the long and quite upset review. I know these are never pleasant to read but it isn't pleasant either having to console my friend and my partner for things out of their...
Read moreEnjoyed the coffees I purchased, however I asked for skinny milk and after getting into the car noticed the 'N' written on the milk part on both drinks. Pretty sure 'N' doesn't stand for skinny milk, but normal milk instead. This was great, because I have real issues trusting people with my food prep anyway, so instantly lost all motivation to ever come back again. Also I treated my mum to a drink and as the gentleman handed it to her he mentioned how the lid was faulty and not closing around the top properly. Not wanting to be a bother she accepted it, but seriously, would it have been so much trouble to try another non faulty lid? She later voiced this when the drink began to leak down the sides and stain her top -as you who work there will well enough know, if that had been a hot beverage you are literally compelled by law to seal the lid around the drink before handing it to a customer, plus I'd just spent £8 on drinks, I think you could spare a lid that worked properly. Nice drinks, just not so good at the customer focussing service. Won't go their again because as I mentioned, I'm funny with people and food prep. Probably go to the one in the...
