I visited this morning with high expectations based on other reviews. The coffee is good I will give you that but I was really disappointed that soya milk was the only non-dairy alternative.

I also ordered a 'banana and strawberry smoothie' expecting a nice thick smoothie made with fresh or frozen fruit - if it costs £3.40 I wouldn't expect anything less! Instead I received a watery and sweet drink. I was really disappointed with this and went to ask the baristas what was in the smoothie. I was outraged when they said it was simply a premade syrup mix and ice. They also were not concerned in the slightest that I had not enjoyed the drink, not apologising or offering an alternative. I had only had a few sips and could not stomach the remaining sickly sweetness of my 'smoothie'. Hugely over priced and misleading!

In a town full of amazing coffee shops you really need to up your game. You have a lot of potential and a beautiful venue but I will not be returning, especially not for a 'smoothie'. You should pre-warn customers that you use a syrup and not fresh or frozen fruit....

Rude staff! Do not come here. My friend and I came here to study as I had come here a couple times before. We sat down and the lady came to ask what we’d like to eat or drink… we said we’d order in a minute or two as we were still deciding. I ordered a tea but my friend was feeling ill so didn’t order anything. 5 minutes later she comes back forcing my friend to order something, bearing in mind she’s packing her stuff to leave as she started feeling more ill. My friend replied that she was leaving anyway and the staff rudely remarked, “Well that’s fantastic! You would leave wouldn’t you!” Which made my friend feel even worse and continued to lecture about the struggles of running a small business. To add to this, the other table across had only ordered one drink and she had not said anything to them. I don’t want to make this race related but me and my friend were of ethnic minority and the other table were white British. Truly truly...

The two ladies seemed disgusted and frustrated to receive customers despite the fact that it was opening time. The lady who served me looked at her watch and at me in dismay, took my order in a very petulant manner, got it wrong and accused me for it.

In between this, something seemed to be wrong with the door and both ladies were complaining about customers coming in and 9 hours being a long enough shift - but it was opening time according to the timetable on the door! It was unlocked and there were several customers inside. It felt to me that one of them was really hungover and in a bad mood. The only positive was that I was refunded for my coffee once I decided I didn’t want to be in this negative place

Unfortunately I won’t be coming back here which is a shame, as it looks like a nice interior with a good menu - i’d been waiting for a chance to come as the 7.30 opening time is too late for me...
