Lovely museum! Having just moved here, we learnt quite a lot about the towns history. Assistants were very friendly too, with one telling us about the extensive independent restaurants leamington has to offer. One star is lost because we went to visit the cafe after looking around the museum just before half 3. We were looking at what was on offer (the cakes looked delicious, unfortunately we didn’t get to try them) and were told to take our time in choosing. We were stood looking for about two minutes, but when we came to order we were told that because it is now half past 3 it was take out service only, despite there being many other people in the cafe still eating. We only wanted cakes so would have been out with plenty of time. It was a shame and put a bit of a dampener on our visit. Luckily we managed to find a coffee shop (cafe royal on warwick street) who also closed at 4 yet happily took our order for some wonderful hot food and cakes. All in all, I would recommend for a nice, relaxing day out learning about the pump rooms, but I would advise to make it a visit as early as possible if you have come on a Sunday and want to eat...

Read moreWow, what an amazing place to visit with #ReadyFreddie today. With an added bonus. We came to Leamington Spa from Nuneaton by train with the aim of visiting this museum. It was closed when we were last in town. We had a good bumble around the spa museum & the art gallery when a young lady from Yorkshire & one from Lancashire told us about a free tour which was starting soon. It was sold to me at the "Free" word but wow. Alan is a super tour guide & he took us behind the scenes & into some otherwise closed off areas. Loads of local history & someone dawdled so we had to forgoe the quiz but standing in the pool (library) & the offices (tiles) was exceptional. The set (corridor) for part of the "Sweet Thing" video was surreal. Absolutely incredible visit. If nothing else a painting purchased for the nation by the Daily Mail! We liked the Arabian spa area, even if it's a mixture...
