Tops Pizza — Restaurant in Watford

Extremely disappointing first order! I would highly recommend NOT to order from the Watford branch.

Today is a member of staffs last day and she loves tops pizza. So, I decided take advantage of the ‘Party Pack Deal’. It states online that you can get any 3-supersize pizzas for £38.97. I selected this deal and chose the peri peri, special and margarita, along with a portion of wings, chicken strips, coca cola and Fanta. When a member of staff brought the order upstairs, I noticed that the pizzas were large, not supersize. I specifically chose supersize as there was 12 members of staff to feed.

I rung the branch and explained the size of the pizza’s were incorrect. He took my order details and then told me ‘No, the order is correct we have given you the correct order’ I explained what I ordered and what I received. While I was explaining this, the man kept cutting me up and continuously wouldn’t let me finish my sentence. He said that what I’m seeing online is not true and I must be imagining it! At this point I got frustrated and said ‘I will come to the branch to show you myself’.

I then drove to the branch, wasting my time and petrol when I should be at work saying a farewell to my employee. When I entered the shop, I asked if I could speak to the person in charge, the man I asked said ‘Yes that’s me’ I asked him if he was the man I spoke to over the phone, he knew where I was from as my name badge states this. I showed him a photo of my computer screen at work which clearly stated 3 supersize pizzas. He then went on his phone and showed me the mobile version, which was different to the computer version. I said I understand this, but I ordered on a computer, and I have photo evidence that what I’m saying is true! He wasn’t having any of it and again kept cutting my sentences short and wouldn’t let me get a word in edgeways. I then asked for his name and when I did, he turned his back to me and started putting a pizza in the oven, saying his name with his back turned to me! He said, ‘You can go to head office, I don’t want to speak with you anymore, we don’t want customers like you, my name is Ramesh’ I then wrote his name down on my phone and said, ‘We won’t be using your services again and I will be contacting head office to inform them of your disgusting, awful, shocking customer service!’

I am appalled at what’s happened, why couldn’t he just accept his mistake and apologised, maybe given a free medium pizza as a gesture of good will? I don’t understand why some individuals struggle to accept they made a mistake; we are all human and it happens sometimes. AVOID...

NOT SUITABLE FOR VEGETERIANS OR HALAL FOOD It used to be good but it has become rubbish. I order from them since years now but I called them as yesterday I order 2 supersize pizzas both vegeterian and same order as I ordered all previous times so how hard it is to just copy. I even mentioned veggie hot and veg tandoori, the guy on the phone repeated too veg tandoori but the pizza sent was CHICKEN TANDOORI... I didnt eat yesterday as I wasnt well but I had to order fir my daughter so I placed the order to gain buy 1 get 1 deal. I warmed up to eat the pizza today and as they look similar, I realised something is wrong but didnt pay attention but when I had it, I came to know this is not paneer. The worst thing is I called them up to raise the issue, but theguy on the phone kept singing only 1 tone " It was yesterday, yesterday is gone, today is new day"... didn't even bother to apologise, frustrated I just told hi.e to put note on my profile that I am vegeterian, I only order meat sides sometimes upon request of someone else. But, then I am thinking why should I give such company business who is not even owning the mistake... So, NO MORE...

Topps has been our go-to pizza takeaway place since we moved to the area 2 years ago. We must have ordered at least 15 times and I never expected such poor customer service as I experienced this time. My husband asked for our pizzas to be extra cooked. The special was well done on the top but the dough was completely raw inside, I’ve included a photo. The veggie pizza was supposedly well done too but you can see the difference in colour compared to the special. I could live with the veg pizza if the manager hadn’t jumped at his own defence telling me that this happens when it’s over cooked and there’s nothing they can do. Eventually just put the phone down completely confused listened to the manager’s excuses and that’s 2 pizzas gone to waste. No offer to remake our order or a refund. Completely unprofessional in my opinion and won’t be ordering...
