The sandwiches have lack of ingredients. The smallest piece of halloumi that I have ever seen in a sandwich and a single piece in each side of the bread, the bread was small too (in some places are double the size of the sandwich) and two small sides of hard avocado in each side half plus a really sad salad with only the corner end of a tomato and one slice of cucumber.
The crisps were clearly the end of the bag as were small and broken, even difficult to take with the hand, were crumbled. The sandwich came with chilli ham, this wasn’t in the list of ingredients, the waitress said that I could clearly see it in the picture !?!? Although she suggested for a swap and I got the pesto and mozzarella one instead, lack of mozzarella again and more crisps crumbs.
When I got my new sandwich, I said I couldn’t have chilli due breastfeeding and she said that the chilli shouldn’t be a problem, it was my personal choice to don’t eat as it is not too spice!?! Not sure how professional that was, the lady was nice offering a swap but I feel judged when she said was my choice to don’t eat it. Yes, it was, the ingredients are not clear and I will not choose it if I knew this in advance.
The atmosphere is nice and clean, although I could see the tension between some members of the staff and wasn’t too...
Read moreI'm a local small business owner and esquires are an easy option to be able to grab a coffee or something to eat in our busy work day. I have bought coffees and lunches from here on a few occasions and every time the service seems disorganised and chaotic - once my order was completely forgotten and another time it had to be remade from scratch (apparently!?) Because the staff failed to see the "takeaway" note. Today I am running my shop on my own, while also 7months pregnant, so needed to run in quickly to get a drink and something to eat. While waiting for my order, one of the staff allowed a lady they recognized to queue jump in front of me, and others waiting, because she was in a rush to catch a train. I'm also in a rush to get back to my business!? And would also prefer not to be left standing around longer than necessary because of pregnancy back pain/ankle swelling. This is the last time I will use esquires unfortunately. They've had more than enough chances to redeem themselves and have failed...
Read moreAbsolutely 11/10! I come here for lunch near enough weekly and the food choice, design and layout and staff are faultless. Manageress can’t do enough for you and everything is so fresh and tasty! I will continue coming here forever!
updated 15/07 Whilst I shall still continue coming weekly to Esquires, I have to say that unfortunately after today’s visit there is a very different experience when the Manageress is off (I think Nicole?). Whilst she can’t do enough for you and comes around to check everything is okay, today normal service did not resume. Without her in, service was poorer. Tables not cleared, glasses not out for water, no serviettes- and shamefully food quality dropped! My poached eggs were completely inedible and food borderline cold on my breakfast today and was no staff around/checking/clearing to raise it! I’m hoping this is a one off miss at the cafe today- but her absence makes a...
