The Wharf Bar & Indian Cuisine — Restaurant in Waverley

I ordered a meal for 3 people at 17:37 through their website. Waited an hour, called up and was told that my order was out for delivery (I live a 9 minute drive from the wharf). I waited until 18:55 and phoned up again and was told by someone else that my order was 7-8 minutes away, so I asked if I could get some money back or money off a future order and I was rudely told “no, your order is 7-8 minutes away”. My order finally arrived at 19:06 piping hot, so unless they have ovens in their delivery cars, I was lied to on the first phone call about my food being out for delivery. I guess this is a long winded way of saying their customer service is very poor and don’t use their website to order because I’m not sure they look at the orders that go through it?! What a lovely surprise. When I was told I was being taken to the wharf I thought it was a pub on wharf street that did curry nights. I was wrong, this is a curry place opposite the old post office. Not to put down the other very reasonable curry houses in the Godalming, I have to say that the wharf is in a different class. We ordered 5 different curries and I tasted them all. All were of an exceptional quality in flavours, quality of meat and presentation. This was fine dining that I have only experienced in high end London establishments. I rarely give 5 stars, but I have no hesitation in this case. Very upset - dishonest staff, delivery time of several hours and room temperature food upon arrival: we were told, after waiting an hour that our food was being packed and sent off, this was clearly untrue as we received it 2 hours after ordering and it had clearly been left out for a significant chunk of time because the food wasn’t hot, but room temp.
