Foxes of Farnham — Restaurant in Waverley

I wanted to come here for my birthday drinks, and had trouble booking online, but the manager personally assured me over the phone she would make sure there was a table for us. When we got there, the place was packed out with a private function, and the manager lied to my face about promising me a table, insisting that she had always told me there was a private function. I decided not to argue with her, as I didn't want to get upset on my birthday night out, and me and my friends went to Jack and Alice down the road. It was a little busy, but the lovely waitress found us a table that we could have for an hour and half. The cocktails were amazing, and slightly cheaper than foxes of Farnham, and they served a range of food great for sharing on a boozy night out. Honestly had an amazing night, I'm so glad foxes of Farnham messed up my booking. I will be going to Jack and Alice in the future.

Edit: I see I have had a response to my review. There is no way for me to respond on Google reviews, so I will do so here. My boyfriend was present during the phone call I had, there was no misunderstanding. Your manager has lied to you. I don't see how cctv footage of me entering with my friends, talking to the staff and then leaving would negate what I've said.

I appreciate mistakes happen, but when I am told repeatedly that what happened didn't happen, it is incredibly frustrating. Your manager could have contacted me after our initial phone call if she later discovered there was a private function. Instead, she chose to let me arrive and then bold face lie to me about what has transpired on our phone call. On the phone, she had told me that she had no idea why the system wasn't letting the booking go through, and advised i try and book again, promising that even if it didn't work she would be available on the day to ensure I had a table. I followed this advice, and my booking was confirmed on my second attempt.

I am not lying about what happened. It is incredibly frustrating to be spoken to like this.

Okay. First of all let me get this out the way. Cocktails - super yum. Now. The service was not it. We got there at half 7 and didn’t receive our drinks until 8:40pm. When we checked on our order we were given a story which kept differing. First of all, there’s a queue for drinks. Second of all, they needed to refresh their system. And then she said our orders might have been lost and asked for what drinks we wanted again so she obviously hadn’t put it through. You think this is review is over. Oh no. Then 2 of our drinks came and the other 2 we did not receive until my lovely friend had to go ask where they were. I will say they they gave us a total discount of £6.50 at the end. Avoid. Ps....

We hired this venue for a surprise party and I am so glad I picked them. The owner was really supportive and let me bring in my own food and cake and specialised the drinks to meet the kind of things our guests would drink. We did some embarrassing t-shirts and the bar staff were super keen to wear them and be part of the surprise. The venue itself is really beautiful, lots of space and has a great atmosphere. Everyone had the best time and said they loved the drinks and would be coming back for their own date nights at some point.
