Heidi — Restaurant in Waverley

My friends and I had a tasty snack at Heidi's in Elphicks today. All the food on display looked great. I'm vegetarian and was pleased to see there were some tasty looking vegetarian options, it was difficult to choose just one. I eventually chose the kimchi wrap which was lovely. There was a choice of salad with the meal deal. I had coleslaw which was good and filling, they certainly don't skimp on the portions. I enjed my americano, it was a nice strong coffee. There was a vast choice of cakes and I bought 2 to take home with me, they were delicious. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Heidi's inside Elphicks, Farnham: I wanted a sandwich but no gluten free bread. Only alternative was a kimchi wrap. No other filling offered. It took ages to arrive - coffee and my husband's croque had been finished. Arrived on a narrow piece of slate. There was a lot of filling pinned down with a wooden pick. Once taken out the wrap just formed a 'plate'. Not possible to make a wrap at all. Far too much kimchi sauce. Very fiery and burned my mouth. All in all Impossible to eat without it going all over the table. Terrible waste of money. Other cafes can offer much better than this including gluten free bread. It's not difficult. Come on Heidi's, go down to Sainsbury's and buy a loaf!!...

The pastries on display were tantalising so perhaps my expectations were a bit too high. They are edible but dry. Perhaps it's because we visited next to closing time (we visited at 4.20pm, they close at 5pm) therefore they were not as fresh as beginning of the day. The young lady behind the counter also look annoyed that we were there at the time and did not seem keen on serving us. She was already cleaning up when we placed our order. To prevent this from happening again, I would suggest that Heidi update their closing times, or place a sign for last orders to prevent customers from bothering staff who...
