I've been here a bunch and times over the recent years and purchased food/ drink, etc. And it is a nice, relaxed, and friendly establishment. There's the odd times i haven't purchased anything, and have just been to the toilet, as I have a medical condition, and there's not many available options later on at night. So I recently went to the toilet there, then about 30 minutes or so later on, I needed to go again (and there being no other option available), I quickly went there. (funnily enough, thinking it's a bit odd going back for a second time), but didn't think really anything of it other than that. And just as i was about to leave, there was a loud knock at the door. In which I was thinking that someone else wanted to go to the toilet. I opened the door, and there was some guy (i assume he was the manager), staring at me, with an aggressive look, wondering what I was doing. I didn't know what was going on, and it made me feel awkward, until he started being aggressive towards me, telling me that "this isn't a public toilet", and that he's seen me "go in and out 4 times". (In which i didn't, and I was in there twice... no idea where he got 4 from, but it seemed like he wanted to make it look worse than it was). I wasn't aggressive or anything back, as I'm a polite person, but do occasionally get talked down to, by people that feel like they get some thrill showing me up. Which, yeah, fair enough that he wanted me to buy the odd thing here and there, sure. And I do. Just not that day. And was essentially claiming I've never bought anything from there, while talking to me aggressively. I understand that you need business, but acting nasty isn't the way to go about it. If he'd have just said that in a more friendly manor, without wondering why I'm there, sure. And then claimed there's been "problems." .....ok, and how is that my fault specifically?. He honestly made me feel like I'm a bad person. Even if I go back, I'd feel like I've done something wrong. Never had any issues until then. Not to mention, I have anxiety and depression, so that...

Our family chose to come here for breakfast, 7 of us.

On immediate first impressions, the decor was well- thought -out and presented well. It’s like stepping into a fancy Estately home, but being served McDonald’s quality food or, you could say, having a sense of being transported into Pizza Hut.

The food was mediocre, lacked any real presentation, for the quality and size, considering the asking price.

However, the app gesture was good. You can order for your table through their app, which works well.

Their menu had many options and was clearly laid out.

We sat upstairs and various members of staff came up with our drinks first and then our food.

We asked a brunette female member of staff for table water, to which she said ‘you can go downstairs and help yourself’. Is this self-service or table service? We were all slightly surprised.

I can understand if you go to Pizza Hut, but we paid just under £100 for us all to have breakfast.

My Triple Stacked Buttermilk Pancakes lacked any real quality.

You could tell the pancakes had done a few rounds or two in the microwave beforehand. Leaving them with a strange soggy-like texture. I have had better pancakes in a similar restaurants for half their asking price.

Others in my group described their meals as being small in portion sizes.

A member of our group ordered a hot chocolate, with marshmallows and cream, which didn’t come with any marshmallows or cream, this is one example.

Overall, this place lacked in a few areas. Customer care, small portions and missing details regarding food and drink.

If you are asking for a higher price for your products and services, then you have to deliver on that, which you didn’t do this time.

Table water on tables might be a starter, along with a simple ‘goodbye thank you for coming’.

Attention to detail...

I went to lunch here yesterday with my parents and it was really disappointing. The welcome was friendly but once we had sat down, we waited nearly half an hour for a member of staff to even ask if we wanted drinks. In the end we had to call someone over, who seemed surprised. Lots of other staff had looked over beforehand, seen we had no drinks or food etc but had walked off. When we eventually got our food it was even more disappointing. We ordered paninis and sandwiches with fries, with the food that was supposed to be hot being only slightly warm. The white bread was stale. The fish finger sandwich contained hardly any lettuce. The only thing that was good was the wine! I hadn't seen my parents for a long time and didn't want to spend the time we had complaining so we just made the best of it and left. Overall very disappointing and wouldn't recommend. The staff took more time and effort with their own food when we noticed them sitting around eating in the upstairs area when we visited the toilets. Very poor.

To the management team - your reply is really poor! I would have hoped for an offer of a refund as the food and service was diabolical! I'm sure my father still has...

This former post office has been lovingly converted into a beautiful cafe bar situated right on the main strip in Welwyn Garden City. On a summer day you can eat outside or go inside where you can enjoy the delicious menu across 2 well decorated and comfortable floors. The place is very dog friendly with your furry friends allowed on the ground floor but not upstairs. Extensive menu spanning breakfast, brunch, sandwiches and tapas; we have a breakfast muffin, mozzarella panini and Miami breakfast all of which were fresh and well cooked. Prices are pretty reasonable too. Well worth a visit.

Really buzzy vibe but at the same time a relaxed social atmosphere. Food was good quality and not too expensive and the cafe/restaurant is super popular with a lunchtime queue at the door for a table on a rainy Monday. Will be even better once they open the upstairs section for eating or relaxing with a good view out the windows onto Howardsgate. Definitely worth a visit and great addition to WGC restaurant/cafe scene - We'll be back!
