Classic pub also which starred in the Worlds End movie.
Since writing the review above 11 months ago; I experienced a revolution in the Two Willows last night.
A seating area now used as a dancefloor and have a facility for a DJ is on the same par as the Doctors Tonic for entertainment in Welwyn Garden City.
It had a great atmosphere; it was a great atmosphere. Very entertaining pub. One of the best around. Having this bar/club really does bring the Two Willows in to the 21st Century. I highly recommend a visit.
My personal score is 10/10.
Last night 2nd December 2018, i experienced the underbelly of this pub.
My advice is don't buy their drinks 15 minutes before last orders;
as with me last night i had bought a pint at last orders then was given 5 minutes to drink it and go. Obviously somewhat disappointed with that i complained to the manager who told me it is on their website so they can legally serve you end of night drinks but will not give you the required minimum time to drink them which i said for a pint is 20 minutes.
Very very disappointed as this is yet another company who have vague t & c's in Welwyn Hatfield..
In respect of this experience i am downgrading this review to
5/10 my personal score and 3 google stars.
It is important for breweries and publicans to honour their commitment to their customers as failure to do so only leads to confusion, disappointment and dissatisfaction.
The pint incidentally was less than half consumed and...
Read moreA game of two halves. Good selection of beer and particularly good fruit ciders. The problem came first with ordering the food then the food itself. The menu says pizza and a drink for £9, select a pizza from the list. So I selected a pizza from the list and was then told that one didn't apply to the offer. The offer clearly said otherwise but we were five minutes in to the ordering process so selected another one from the exact same list which would have been OK but neither of the staff could work out how to apply the offer on the till despite it being highly prominent on the menu. Then the food arrived and the pizza (from the list, same as the one I first ordered) was excellent other than the pepperoni having a lot of fat in it. The Buddha Bowl was not excellent and Buddha would have been pained by the abuse of vegetables. The broccoli was orange in places and not at all fresh, the lettuce had seen a good life maybe but it had definitely reached the end. Combined it tasted very unpleasant so we got a full refund on that. Nice staff but you can't charge £9 for...
Read moreSo I turned up at 00:04am… and was not allowed in as their cut off time for letting in was at 00:00 which is fine! However while I waited to speak to my aunt who was inside the premises I watched their doorman be very Aggressive and hands On with removing someone… and then is friend shortly after, as my aunt and I were talking I watched the same doorman physically push a man out the premisses again for unknown reason to me but very aggressive and egotistical!! Was quite a shock to watch that your doorman think that’s okay! Not only that but I was refused entry which again was fine but then watch a bar woman wave her friend in at 00:40ish as my aunt and I were talking… when my aunt brought this to the doormans attention he got mouthy and implied she either deal with it or get kicked out too… Also claimed he was her “brother” which again… doesn’t make it okay if it’s one rule for one and another for another. None the less I won’t be visiting this premises again on the grounds of how their doorman acted!...
