Misya Meze & Grill — Restaurant in Welwyn Hatfield

2 adults and 2 children under 10. We were in Welwyn Garden City for the day and had seen this restaurant when we entered the area and were looking for parking. We later returned at around 3pm and saw they had a lunch time menu on up until 4pm so we decided to have lunch. We were with our small chihuahua sized dog and he wasn't allowed in the restaurant so as it was a lovely sunny day, we sat outside. What was disappointing was that, once we had said we would be sitting outside - we waited a further 3 - 4 minutes and nobody came out to arrange the tables. I had to put the tables together myself and arrange them so that all 4 of us could sit together. Then once I had done that, the head waitress came out with plates and cutlery, but I then had to ask them to wipe the table down first before any of that was placed on the table. Once that was done the rest was fine. We ordered off the lunchtime menu which was £12.99 for two courses, a main and either a starter or dessert. From the starters we ordered x2 Kalamari and from the dessert the kids had a chocolate ice cream and a vanilla ice cream (1 scoop each). The Kalamari was very nice - one of the best we've had and tasted fresh..not frozen. From the mains we ordered, imam beyaldi, chicken wings, chicken shish and lamb shish. Each came with rice and salad. We asked for cucumbers for the kids and they were not stingy with the portions. Each person had said their main was really nice. We ordered x2 extra chips to go alongside and a large bottle of water. Everything came to £66 and with service charge which was added onto the bill, the total was £73. The expense was the chips which were £4.25 for a small portion and the large bottle of water was just over £5. I found it to be good value when ordering from the lunch menu. Overall, I gave it 4 stars as the service initially was very slow and not really up to standard, however this did get better and we were checked on regularly with the waitress even getting water for our dog 🐕. The food, on the other hand, was very nice - surprisingly nice actually as we didn't expect it to be as nice, being a Turkish restaurant with no competition in a location which predominantly doesn't have a large Turkish community. I would definitely return again as it was only about half an hour...

I was at this restaurant 2 days ago and it was nice. Nice people, good food.....bla bla bla.....yesterday I order home and wasn't the same....the seafood starter was really bad? They don't clean the little fish inside? Fry them whole? Disgusting!!!! And the lamb was smelling? So NO NO NO .....I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND IT AGAIN! Update.....I order today again. Really nice and fresh food but very disappointed about the fish? On the Feast menu it says variety of grilled fish? No way! A very small piece of salmon veryyyyy dryyyyyy! And I thought is coming with a drink at this price? Everything is so small! For the money is not worth it! Won't recommend it for the portion and the quality!Never received my order? The guy on the phone keep saying that I should order straight with them an d keep blaming the just eat driver? Omg really? I order 2 hours ago? Defffffff please don't ever order?......I order again today......called them 8 times and nobody answered? Shocking! Starters ,salad and bread really nice! Calamari was tough and chewy....frozen definitely! Fish really bad and chewy and the lamb aswell? So only for cold starters and bread I will advise!very small portions! Be aware! And the starters off? I order of 42 more pounds and the starters were rotten and the mixed grill very small? I just order on deliveroo today.....HORRIBLE! THE LAMB WAS SMELLING AND OF COURSE THE CHICKEN SMELL OF LAMB ASWELL? VERY WORM AND SMELLY FOOD ...DONT ORDER BELIEVE ME! I CALLED....NOBODY ANSWER! THE LAMB SHOULDN'T SMELL LIKE THIS!!! NEVER! I AM NOT TRYING NOTHING ELSE FROM THEM AND I SPEND OVER 40 POUNDS! WHAT A SHAME! AND THE DRIVER WAS REALLY BAD? STAY AWAY! .....I am sooooooo sorry you...

My friend and I have eaten in this restaurant before and really enjoyed it. Maybe the management has changed but we went there a few days ago and complained to three staff members about the bowl of salad served with our lamb shish. It was just a soggy mass of ghastly bland vegetables, white cabbage and sweetcorn and other unrecognisable stuff, nothing like a proper Turkish salad. One waiter tried to tell us it was a complimentary salad specially for us, although a salad was shown on the menu as included in the price. I told him and 2 other waiters that it looked like it had been sitting around for 2 or 3 days. The veggies were all one colour - sludge - apart from sweet corn, which we have never had before in a Turkish salad. There was just one half slice of tomato and about 4 baby spinach leaves arranged on the edge. It sat in a wet tasteless pool of liquid. I just cannot express how bad it was. I should have taken a photo. Also, although there was a good portion of very tender lamb, the bulgar wheat portion was minimal. We definitely will not be going back again. All they needed to do to put it right was to remove the soggy salad and bring us a proper fresh Turkish salad but no such offer was made to us. So...
