Simmons — Restaurant in Welwyn Hatfield

Im a regular customer. Ive never seen the floor so dirty.

Sophie. Sophie. Sophie. May be very tall and very blonde but totally clueless. I talked her through every single step of making two rolls.

According to her butter is for one half of the roll only. Anchor butter spread that she demonstrated to me was melted liquid dripping off the knife but she still used it.

The next customer after me was treated to the use of a freshly opened tub. Who'd have thought it possible that there's more butter in the fridge, eh? Clearly not Sophie.

Managed to talk her through buttering the bare half of one roll. This advice didn't catch on for the second roll and so I explained again.

Wafting around whilst giving out patronising reassurances to those in authority and the other staff who are actually working hard . All with a flirty smile though so I suppose that covers up her...

Initially had problems ordering by machine.... As jacket potatoes said sold out... Yet... We could see lots🤔.. Fortunately a nice young lady came to my assistance, re programmed the machine,... And... We ordered, paid.. And waited for our order to arrive 😁... Which was scrumptious.... My friend and I both ordered jacket potatoes... Mine with Korean chicken... Hers with tuna... Both had a lovely side salad,.. Good size potatoes,.. All ingredients fresh.. I could see, from where I was sitting all the orders being prepared... Everyone wore plastic gloves, used tongs where appropriate and were extremely hygiene friendly 😊.... Definitely recommend for the extremely friendly service, very efficient... And most of all lovely fresh food......

Simmons Welwyn Garden City has lost the purpose of why people pop in to a coffee shop or bakery

Let me remind you:

To enjoy a cup of coffee in relative peace and calm atmosphere and be able to have a conversation.

The atmosphere was not like it this afternoon.

One staff member was sweeping the floor loudly, the other restocking the fridge and trying to be as loud as possible. The staff in the kitchen contributed their bit by smacking every single cuttlry as hard as hard as possible. To add to all that obviously the loud Disco tech music in the background, felt like a night club.

Do you people even know what a coffee shop or a bakery means?

Never returning...
