Went here for the first (and last) time with two other friends yesterday and it was truly an absolute disaster from start to finish.
When we entered the restaurant the waiter that 'greeted' us was extremely cold and unwelcoming. The unprofessional greeting set a negative atmosphere from the onset and it was disappointing that he couldn't even muster a smile or genuine greeting.
A different waiter then approached us and asked if were ready to order drinks, we hadn't actually looked through the menu yet so it took us a while to decide what to order. The waiter stood at us glaring as we considered the options with an extremely impatient demeanour.
The waiter that took our drinks order gave us our drinks and asked if we were ready to order food. We said no not yet, to which he replied 'you are not ready still'. I was taken aback by this rude and unprofessional response. We repeated that we were not ready to which he visibly rolled his eyes at us and stomped off. Honestly, I have never experienced someone in a customer facing position not even try to hide their impatience and be brazen enough to roll their eyes in a customer's vicinity.
The original waiter that had greeted us approached our table and bought over some complimentary bread. Whilst we were eating the bread no one came to our table and acknowledged our presence, we were clearly being ignored for 'taking too long to decide to order'. By the time we had finished the bread and continued to wait our order still hadn't been taken.
Taken the above into consideration, we were not keen to stay and decided to leave. We asked for the bill, which took so long to get and even longer for someone to collect payment. We mentioned to the waiter that we were unimpressed with our experience and explained why, he offered a feeble apology which was not genuine. We made the payment of the bill feeling unsatisfied with his 'apology'. We then queried why we had been charged for complimentary bread, and he insinuated that we deliberately finished our bread before leaving. Extremely insulting considering the bread was a mere £2.50 and we had already paid the bill, it was the principle we were questioning rather than trying to get 'free bread before we left'. His patronising insult resulted in us asking to speak to the manager.
The manager seemed extremely stressed and attempted to justify the waiter's behaviour by mentioning how 'difficult the job is' and how it is a 'busy night'. I have worked as a waitress before and do not underestimate how challening it can be, but poor customer service is never acceptable or justifiable. The manager then said if we were to return again he would serve us personally to ensure we have a positive experience, this was concerning as it showed there was a lack of trust in his staff and they could not be relied on to provide a positive experience. In all honesty we we will not return, the manager gave us a sincere apology and complimentary baklava, but by then it was too little too late.
The resturant has a nice ambience and layout, but the customer service is poor and the attitude of the waiting staff is unprofessional and dreadful. I can't speak for the food as I...
Read moreI went in today at lunch time, and i had been going for a couple of days with my friend, the usual attention to new customers wasnt there, i waited 5 mins to be seated and during the 5 minutes i spoke to 2 people that worked there to ask if the restaurant had been booked because i had not been attended to.
Finally one of the staff came and his face looked full of confusion as if i missed a sign that said closed for private party. The usual outcome is the staff comes and presents you with a meeting and asks table for 2 etc.
I explained to the waiter table for one and had sat me down in a really small table for 2. This wasn't a problem as i was alone today.
I noticed they had a minimum card order of £10 and i hadn't eaten the night before so i felt brave to order 2 lunch meals at £6.50 a meal which is a bargain.
The lady who took my order was really nice and asked if i was alone, and appropriately gave me a large beer glass for my 2 cans of sprite. Prior to this, ive ordered 2 meals but was given a really small glass to pour my drink.
I waited for the food and was presented bread whivh was stale and had no seasoning which i had always received yesterday and the visits before.
Food finally came after 30 minutes and the waiter who looked like Ken (ken & barbie) had the same confused face as before, and wanted me to repeat my order as though they had the wrong order. I order the 5 wings meal and the chicken leg. I honestly felt judged and didnt like the attitude from the guys in white shirts.
The meal was yummy and its the reason why ive come 5 times since working in Hatfield a month ago.
Tip for the establishment, please be attentive, if someone is walking around the front door and visually nodding and smiling at you, please go and attend to them, if i didnt have patience i would have left after speaking to the first guy who served the bread. Finally, i might look small, but i love turkish food, so please dont ruin this for me when i come back again, there are 400 people who work with me and only a handful know about this place. Word goes around quick.
I hope to visit you guys soon and hope you can redeem yourself
*update 19/12 im currently onsite with a group of friends, the bread is stale and the staff were extremely rude, they did not understand our orders and we had to repeat ourselves several times, they also started to have a fight with my friends and questioned why we didnt give tip. Extremely poor service 2...
Read moreVILE!!! I visited this restaurant with a group of 8 friends, the table was booked in advance and we clearly stated there was 9 people in total. On arrival we were offered a table for 16!! Right in the centre of the restaurant. This was a red flag which we unfortunately did not pick up on! The service started off with a young waitress serving one dipping sauce between the 9 off us, with no bread for a good 15 minutes. Again we missed the red flag!! When approached for bread she aggressively replied "you have to place an order first for me to give you bread!" This again was another red flag which we ignored at this point. Her persona and attitude towards us seemed cold and unwelcoming which was clearly evident!! But the food tasted good so again we ignored it. Our total bill was split between 9 (minus the service charge We paid the payment and as we are about to leave this bald waiter approaches us, waving some paper at us demanding more payment! This bald guy made a accusation saying we had not paid the full amount. We showed him our receipt, phone screen, bank details etc Really hoping to solve this horrendous accusation. While that young waitress is sniggring at the back. He refused to even akwnolgde the proof a nd just kept shaking his head, talking down at us and refusing to listen. At this point I stepped in and gave him 2 options either listen, or call the police and we will deal with this matter the proper way as his behaviour was becoming very intimidating for us ladies. His response immediately was, "oh it's fine you can go!" Again red flag!! Our experience was absolutely disgusting and degrading! The food was great and the chef should be credited for that. The service is vile they pick and choose who they want to treat good. These waiters have no mannerisms especially the bald man this is not the first time he has targeted paying customers. He clearly needs training!!! Will not be recommended or...
