Went to Josie's Winchester for the second time and we were happy with the experience. You cannot book for this restaurant, which is a shame, but still works anyway, and we turned up in the morning for a table for 2. We were seated straight away and the decor of the restaurant was lovely and welcoming, as were the staff.
Once seated, we were given some menus to look at and the selection was lovely. There were all sorts of treats to choose from starters and mains to sweet and savoury. A true balanced menu for everyone! We chose between us, the full english breakfast, tater tots, biscoff milkshake, oreo pancakes and a tropical smoothie. I found everything to be excellent portion sizes and good value for what we paid.
Oreo pancakes - delicious, not sickly and really food flavour, straight down to the soft pancakes themselves! Tropical smoothie - fresh and high quality taste. Full English breakfast - excellent food and high quality ingredients with the replacement of mushroom to another sausage without charge! Tater tots - never had these before and they were incredible! So tasty and will order them every single time. Biscoff Milkshake - amazing flavour and also served with the rest of the milkshake they made! We managed to get around two and a half glasses worth of milkshake from the one metal container.
Tasty food, friendly staff and speedy service too. Lovely restaurant serving up treats and using high quality ingredients. We will surely visit again some time in the near future. To improve, Josie's could offer sides with some of the mains making it easier to get a meal! Very happy and please see the photo below to see how yummy...
Read moreI've never seen this chain in London. It has 4 branches so far but defintely one to watch out for.
It's one of those trendy, American/Brirish cafes that provides breakfasts, lunches, and brunches that are different , interesting, and a little different than I have experienced previously. All in a positive way, i must add.
It mainly attracts young families, couples etc. It gets really busy, but they have a great system similar to Nandos where they take your name and number, and they let you know through the app/tect where you are in the que.
Lots of options for veg/ non veg vegan, glutenftee, etc.
We ordered a vege breakfast with grilled haloumi and mini potato tots (or whatever you call it 😀 and I had a 2 stack American pancake with egg, bacon, and sausage with maple syrup. Sounds rich and fully of calories, which it was, but damn tasty.
Service was quick, a little too quick in my case, where they got my drink and order wrong as it was rushed, but apart from that, it was all good!
As it is a fast-moving place, paying for the bill is easy and fast, where wach rable has a QR code and picks up your bill once you have ordered. Quick, simple, and effective. Great place Great and food and a very modern twist to a lot of places like...
Read moreLong time josies winchester customer. Used to waiting a long time for a table. Today we waited nearly 3 hours from when we first walked in to receiving our food. We joined the virtual queue with a 45 minute wait which is very normal for a Saturday brunch slot. We headed back to the restaurant after an hour when we were position 2 in the queue after finishing our coffees elsewhere. We waited an additional 30 minutes in the restaurant before being seated with more than 6 empty seats across 3 or more tables. Once seated our food took about 40 minutes to come. 1. Be realistic with customers on wait times - we would not be upset if you told us it would take 3 hours to eat, we would have gone elsewhere. 2. This cost your customers valuable time and money (we had to extend parking twice and spend in other venues whilst waiting). 3. Clear tables! Customers wouldn't mind a set time slot (many places ask for the table back after 1hr). Kick people out who are sat at tables playing on their phones at peak times! Get a floor manager who can actually turn tables! This isn't rocket science and hurts your customers and your business. I will be taking a break from using the restaurant because the food isn't good enough to justify this hassle. Hopefully...
